Hakone Suishoen is a luxury ryokan in Hakone area, just a couple of hours away from Tokyo. Hakone Suishoen has a special history, as it was originally built as a villa for the Mitsui financial group, but later turned into a registered cultural property.

If you are after a high end ryokan with private hot spring baths in the room, incredible layout, aesthetic and design, then Hakone Suishoen is the ryokan for you.

Some of the suites have foot baths, mist saunas and even hammocks. Dinner here is a highlight with a focus on teppanyaki cuisine. Don’t miss having a Japanese tipple at the Ito bar, which serves original cocktails and rare liquors.

Accommodation

The Hakone Suishoen ryokan was designed for luxury, and each one of the suites has a special layout and design. Pick between the Luxury Suite, Luxury Suite Maisonette, Precious Suite, Comfort Suite Maisonette, Comfort Suite, and Stylish Suite.

Each room features its own hot spring bath, and some rooms have additional attractions like mist saunas, hammocks, and Ryukyu tatami mat rooms.

If you have tattoos, you can enjoy your own hot spring bath in the privacy of your suite.

Dining

Hakone Suishoen focuses on delicious Japanese kaiseki dinners with teppanyaki options. If you love food, you will love the show of colors and flavors on your plate at Hakone Suishoen.

Breakfast comes with either Japanese or Western options.

Onsen & Wellness

There are 23 rooms at the Hakone Suishoen and each and every single one of them has its own private open-air baths, sourced from a gently alkaline hot spring. The ryokan also has a large communal bath with a dry sauna.

The water is colorless and has a flow rate of 54 liters per minute. The public onsen is available from 3 PM to midnight and from 6 AM to 11 AM.

For further treatments and pampering, head to the Spa and enjoy treatments and massages. The spa utilizes all-hand methods based on the blessings of plants and traditional techniques from around the world. The spa operates daily from 1 PM to 10 PM.
