Hotel Taisetsu is perched on a hill in Sounkyo, Hokkaido. It offers great views of one of Japan’s most beautiful places. Hotel Taisetsu was founded 70 years ago, and the concept of the accommodation is the “Garden Where the Gods Play.”

Hotel Taisetsu has several rooms you can select from. The premium rooms have open air baths and private dining areas. The special rooms are Japanese modern style with spacious interiors.
Canyon View rooms are Japanese-Western style rooms with stunning views of the gorge. There are also traditional Japanese rooms with tatami and twin rooms.

The hotel features three distinct restaurants:
- Inankur is a restaurant in Sounkyo that serves food that is fresh and seasonal.
- Hinna Forest is a buffet dining option where you will enjoy dishes made with fresh local ingredients.
- Kikyoan is a Japanese luxury restaurant offering private dining and a menu that highlights the finest seasonal ingredients.
Onsen & Wellness
Hotel Taisetsu boasts several hot spring options. The highlight is the Tenka no Yu which is an open-air bath located in the gorge.
Daisetsu-no-yu is a panoramic public bath on the top floor with a sauna.
Chinita no Yu is a European-style large bath with an exotic feel.
Guests with Tattoos
Guests with tattoos are not permitted to use the public hot springs at Hotel Taisetsu.
