Accommodation
Stay in rooms designed to help you relax fully. At Nanraku, you’ll find two distinct areas:
Shimogamo-tei: These rooms include a traditional irori fireplace and a private open-air tub. You can soak while watching the Aono River drift by. The design blends comfort with rustic elegance, perfect for long, quiet evenings.
No-no-hanatei: Built in traditional sukiya-zukuri style, these rooms reflect refined simplicity. Large windows and wide verandas give you open views of nature, inviting you to pause and stay present.
All rooms offer carefully chosen amenities to support your onsen tour, including yukata, tabi socks, haircare items, and more. You’ll also find thoughtful details that make your stay smoother, from well-stocked bathrooms to cozy spaces for tea or reading.
Dining
Meals at Nanraku showcase the richness of Minami-Izu. The chefs prepare full-course Japanese meals with seasonal vegetables and local seafood. Every dish highlights the unique flavors of the region.
Dinner includes traditional favorites, beautifully plated and served in the dining hall. Breakfast features a gentle start to the day—low-pesticide vegetables, miso soup finished at the table, and slow-cooked tofu. You’ll also enjoy dried mackerel and other nourishing dishes that help you ease into your morning.
Onsen and Wellness
Nanraku is famous for its colorful hot spring tour, offering you access to 22 different baths across the property. Two natural hot spring sources supply the baths with mineral-rich water that heals and soothes from the inside out.
Private Baths
You can choose from 10 locations with 17 individual baths, all free to use and available 24 hours a day. No reservation is required—just check the entrance. If there are no shoes outside and the bath is unoccupied, you’re welcome to enter. Lock the door behind you for full privacy.
The private baths are divided into three types:
- Spacious Private Baths: Large rooms with both indoor and outdoor baths, offering plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the spring.
- Family-Style Private Baths: Set among trees, these cozy baths are ideal for couples or small families.
- Jinbei San-Kyodai Baths: These include outdoor baths and give you a peaceful, open-air soak with gentle views of the surrounding forest.
Every private bath includes a shower, and amenities are kept simple. You’ll find shampoo, conditioner, and body soap—but please use the large bath for other personal care items.
Large Public Baths
Nanraku has two public bath areas:
Jinbei-no-yu: This bath includes two outdoor tubs—one made of cedar and one of natural rock—as well as Toji-no-yu, a special indoor bath with gem and pebble flooring. From 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, it’s open to women; from 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM, it’s available to men.
Miya-no-yu: This traditional outdoor bath offers wide-open views and a simple indoor space to match. From 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, it’s open to men; from 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM, it’s open to women.
Spa amenities include cleansing foam, razors, skin lotion, hairdryers, cotton swabs, and haircare products. You can enjoy your bath slowly, but please avoid staying too long to prevent dizziness.
