Overview

Experience the quiet charm of old Edo at Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu, located just steps from the bustling Nakamise shopping street and historic Senso-ji Temple. This traditional inn has grown to six floors while preserving the warmth and intimacy of a classic wooden ryokan. Whether you’re traveling from afar or live nearby, you’ll find rest and reflection in the heart of Asakusa.

When you step into the cypress bath on the top floor, you can gaze out at the five-story pagoda of Senso-ji Temple and the towering Tokyo Skytree. As the sky turns deep blue in the evening, this view creates a moment of quiet appreciation and deep relaxation.

Accommodation

You can choose from Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, Western-style rooms for solo travelers, and suites that offer more space and scenic balconies. Each room is equipped with Airweave mattress pads to improve the quality of your sleep.

Suite Rooms (5F and 6F)

These rooms are ideal for families or groups of up to four people. The 6F suite includes two six-tatami rooms and a balcony with views of Senso-ji Temple and Tokyo Skytree. The 5F suite includes a spacious eight-tatami room connected to a smaller one and features a renovated bath, vanity, and a balcony.

Deluxe Rooms (Japanese-Style)

These rooms include six tatami mats and a two-mat wooden space. They’re perfect for two people and offer a calm, refined atmosphere. Some rooms face the five-storied pagoda of Senso-ji Temple.

Standard Rooms (Japanese-Style)

Designed for singles or couples, these rooms combine classic design with practical comfort.

Economy Rooms (Japanese-Style)

Though compact, these rooms preserve the elegance of traditional Japanese spaces. They’re suited for solo travelers looking for a quiet, personal stay.

Single Rooms (Western-Style)

These rooms offer a simple, modern layout with Western beds and a full bathroom, perfect for business or solo visits.

All rooms include Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a private bathroom (some with a shower booth), a refrigerator, and amenities like yukata, towels, hairdryer, and tea sets. Smoking is prohibited throughout the property.

Dining

Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu doesn’t offer in-house meals, but the location puts you just steps away from traditional food stalls, sweets shops, and restaurants in Asakusa.
