Overview

Step into the elegance of the 1920s at Shinzan Kinosaki Onsen. This ryokan invites you to enjoy the timeless charm of Kinosaki Onsen, where thoughtful design, soft colors, and vintage touches surround you in comfort. Whether you’re walking through town in a yukata or soaking in a granite bath, every moment connects you to the quiet grace of a bygone era.

Accommodation

Shinzan offers 37 Japanese-style rooms, including three special suites. Each room pairs traditional aesthetics with modern essentials. Choose from spacious tatami rooms, Japanese-Western fusion rooms, or special suites like Hisui, Kohaku, and Ruri—each named after precious stones and designed with natural textures and artistic detail.

All rooms include a bidet toilet, Smart TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, electric kettle, yukata, and natural skincare products from Waphyto. The suites feature Repronizer hair dryers and original artwork, adding to the calm, refined atmosphere.

Dining

Enjoy kaiseki-style meals that highlight the seasons. Shinzan’s chefs create dishes using local ingredients and time-honored techniques, balancing flavor and presentation in every course. In winter, you can savor dishes featuring snow crab, a regional favorite.

Breakfast features a Shokado bento that blends tradition and creativity—perfect for starting your day in a thoughtful way.

Onsen and Wellness

Shinzan offers four distinct hot spring baths. Begin in Mio no Yu, a granite bath that wraps you in smooth stone and warmth. Step into Kiri no Yu and find yourself in a Japanese garden. Shizuku no Yu surrounds you with the calming scent of cypress. Then breathe deep under the sky in Tsuyu no Yu, the largest open-air bath in Kinosaki Onsen.

The chloride-rich spring water supports your health—easing muscle pain, fatigue, and more. The baths alternate by gender each day, giving you access to all four during your stay.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, you are welcome to enjoy the public baths or explore private bathing options upon arrival.

Facilities

Throughout the ryokan, you’ll see touches of the past—from Tamba pottery to traditional ink paintings. The architecture blends Japanese craftsmanship with subtle 1920s influences. You’ll find free Wi-Fi, yukata, a tea set, and personal touches throughout the property.

You can borrow items like phone chargers, nail clippers, thermometers, and even a deck of cards to make your stay more comfortable.

Activities

Your stay includes a pass to all seven public hot spring baths in Kinosaki. You can visit each one as many times as you like until 15:30 on your checkout day. Stamp books are available at each bath for a fun keepsake.

Wear your yukata through the streets as you shop for local sweets, try retro arcade games, or stroll along the canals. Rent a bike from the ryokan and explore deeper into town.
