Overview

Stay beside a clear river in Oshino Village at GLAMP DOME FUJI OSHINO, around 90 minutes from central Tokyo by car. Set at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji, this private glamping resort places you close to Oshino Hakkai, Lake Kawaguchi, and Lake Yamanaka.

The resort has eight standalone units in three accommodation styles. Every unit includes a natural hot spring bath, a private toilet and shower, an all-weather dining area, and its own campfire space. Heating and air conditioning allow you to enjoy the outdoor setting throughout the year.

You can spend the day exploring the Fuji Five Lakes area, then return for a private soak, a BBQ beside your accommodation, and drinks from the complimentary wine service. Clear weather may bring views of Mt. Fuji, although clouds can hide the mountain at any time.

Accommodation

Choose between the Aqua Dome, Lapis Tent, and Villa Foresta. Each unit is non-smoking and gives you a separate sleeping space, private natural hot spring bath, shower, washlet toilet, food-preparation equipment, and outdoor area.

The Aqua Dome measures 38 square metres and has four single beds. Five Aqua Domes are available, each facing the river from its outdoor living area. The seven-metre-wide dome includes heating and air conditioning, making it comfortable during both warm summers and cold Oshino winters.

The private dining room sits separately from the sleeping area, so you can grill and eat without bringing cooking smells into the dome. When you stay with more than four people, an additional futon can be prepared.

The 36-square-metre Lapis Tent also has four single beds and can accommodate up to five people with an additional futon. Its original shape combines a large tent interior with design elements inspired by a mobile home.

A canopy above the sleeping area adds to the tent atmosphere, while heating and air conditioning support year-round stays. You also have your own natural hot spring bath, toilet, shower, dining room, and campfire area.

Villa Foresta is the only villa-style accommodation. The 82-square-metre interior sits on a private 164.5-square-metre plot and follows a spacious three-bedroom layout with a living room, dining area, and full kitchen.

Two semi-double beds and four futon sets allow you to stay together with family or friends. The kitchen has an IH hob and equipment for preparing meals, while a 50-inch television is provided in the living area.

Outside, you have a 21-square-metre private pool and space for BBQ dining. The pool is exclusive to Villa Foresta and is not available with the Aqua Dome or Lapis Tent.

Every accommodation includes free Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning, a humidifying air purifier, refrigerator and freezer, microwave, electric kettle, hair dryer, cooking tools, plates, glasses, and cutlery. Televisions are only provided in Villa Foresta.

Towels, sleepwear, slippers, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, skincare products, razors, brushes, cotton items, and makeup remover are also provided.

Dining

Enjoy dinner inside the private all-weather dining space beside your accommodation. The room is covered and climate-controlled, allowing you to cook comfortably during rain, snow, or colder weather.

The main glamping BBQ introduces you to ingredients from Yamanashi and the Mt. Fuji area. The menu may include Koshu beef sirloin, aged beef sirloin, venison sausage, grilled salmon and vegetables, Oshino Hakkai tofu, seafood cooked in a cheese cream sauce, pot-au-feu, salad, bread, and dessert.

From November to May, you may also choose a Western-style shabu-shabu dinner scented with Yamanashi red wine. Koshu beef, Fuji Sakura pork, seasonal vegetables, risotto finished with Parmesan cheese, tofu, and small skillet dishes form part of the meal.

A children’s BBQ includes familiar dishes such as hamburg steak, sausage, grilled rice balls, corn, and buttered potatoes.

Breakfast comes with two filled baguette sandwiches. Fillings include pulled pork with mashed potato and smoked Fujinosuke salmon, accompanied by fresh salad, yogurt, and milk.

Menus change with the season and ingredient supply. Separate allergy-friendly meals cannot be prepared, so a self-catering stay is the safest choice when you need complete control over ingredients.

A stay without meals lets you bring your own food and drinks without a corkage charge. Knives, chopping boards, kitchen scissors, tableware, and basic cooking equipment are provided, but you need to bring seasonings.

For safety, you cannot bring your own grill, hot plate, or other heat source. A gas BBQ grill can be arranged with a self-catering stay, while it is included when you select a meal plan.

A complimentary drink and snack service includes several Yamanashi wines, allowing you to sample local labels without leaving the resort.

Onsen and Wellness

Every unit includes a private bath supplied with natural hot spring water. The water is a sodium-rich simple spring with a gentle bathing feel that is also suitable for younger children.

You can use your bath at any time between check-in and check-out. As the bathing area belongs only to your accommodation, you do not need to make a reservation or follow communal bathing hours.

The private setting allows you to move easily between the hot spring, terrace, and dining area. You can soak after sightseeing, return again before bed, or begin the morning with another bath.

A separate outdoor wood-fired sauna is available by advance reservation. You reserve the complete sauna for your travelling party and can create steam through self-löyly by pouring water over the heated stones.

Sauna sessions are offered in four evening time slots between 4:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. You need to wear swimwear or a rash guard.

The sauna does not have a cold-water bath. After heating your body, you cool down naturally in the outdoor air beside the river. Strong wind, heavy rain, or snow may cause sessions to be changed or cancelled.

Guests with Tattoos

You can use the natural hot spring bath in your unit when you have tattoos. Every bath is completely private, so you do not enter a shared bathing area.

The outdoor sauna is also reserved for one travelling party at a time, allowing you to use it without sharing the space.

Facilities

Each unit gives you a private natural hot spring bath, shower, washlet toilet, all-weather dining room, food-preparation space, and campfire area. You can enjoy the fire until 9:00 p.m., subject to weather and safety conditions.

The complimentary drink and snack service includes Yamanashi wines. You can take your selected drink back to your dining area and pair it with the BBQ menu or enjoy it beside the fire.

Free Wi-Fi is available inside every unit. Heating, air conditioning, humidifying air purifiers, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, electric kettles, cooking tools, tableware, and a full selection of bathing products support both meal-plan and self-catering stays.

Villa Foresta adds a full kitchen, private pool, and television. The Aqua Domes and Lapis Tents do not have televisions, allowing you to focus more closely on the river, fire, and outdoor setting.

The reception building is open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. An emergency telephone number is provided for assistance outside these hours.

Free parking is available, and you can drive close to your accommodation when unloading luggage. There is no laundry room, and pets cannot stay at the resort.

All indoor accommodation areas are non-smoking, including electronic cigarettes. Smoking is limited to the designated area.

Activities

Gather around your private campfire in the evening and spend time outdoors beneath the Oshino sky. Firewood and lighting equipment can be arranged, while the fire must be finished by 9:00 p.m.

The Katsura River flows in front of the resort and is known for fly-fishing. Trout species found in the local waterways include yamame, iwana, and rainbow trout. Fishing conditions, permits, and available experiences depend on the season.

The reservable wood-fired sauna gives you another way to enjoy the riverside setting. You can combine self-löyly with fresh-air rest while listening to the river and surrounding birds.

Partner activities around the Fuji Five Lakes area include kayaking on Lakes Kawaguchi and Yamanaka, boat cruises, swan boats, wakasagi fishing, horse riding, paragliding, buggy rides, and guided walks through Aokigahara Forest. Some experiences include benefits linked to your stay and require advance booking.

Oshino Hakkai places eight clear spring-fed ponds within easy reach. You can also visit Sakana Park and the Fuji Spring Water Aquarium to learn more about the fish and water systems shaped by Mt. Fuji.

For a longer outing, cycle around Lake Kawaguchi, visit the lakeside parks, or explore the attractions around Lake Yamanaka and Fujiyoshida.

Additional Features

Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. The Aqua Domes and Lapis Tents have a 10:00 a.m. check-out, while Villa Foresta has an 11:00 a.m. check-out.

The resort is around four minutes by car from Fujiyoshida Oshino Smart Interchange. The drive from central Tokyo takes approximately 90 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

When you travel by train, take the Fujikyu Railway from Otsuki Station to Mt. Fuji Station, then continue by local bus for approximately 20 minutes.

Highway buses from Shinjuku take around two hours to Oshino Iriguchi. From the bus stop, the walk to the resort takes approximately eight minutes.

A station or bus-stop transfer is not provided, so you need to arrive by car, taxi, or public bus.
