Overview

At Renessa Jogasaki, you stay in a private cottage near the dramatic coastline of Jogasaki in Izu. The property sits close to Jogasaki Coast, a scenic area formed by lava from Mount Omuro, and you can walk to Igaiga-ne in about five minutes. This makes it easy to enjoy rocky coastal views, sea air, and quiet time surrounded by nature.

Each cottage has its own private indoor hot spring bath with free-flowing spring water, so you can soak whenever you like during your stay. You do not need to plan your bath time around a shared bathing schedule, and you can enjoy the onsen in your own space. With roomy cottage layouts, pet-friendly options, a seasonal pool, BBQ facilities, and a free lounge, Renessa Jogasaki works well when you want a relaxed Izu stay with family, friends, or your dog.

Accommodation

Renessa Jogasaki offers cottage-style rooms set across a spacious natural site. Every cottage has a private indoor bath with free-flowing hot spring water, and you can use it 24 hours a day during your stay. This gives you the comfort of a private onsen experience without leaving your room.

You can choose from several cottage types, depending on how much space you want and the style you prefer. The Luxury Type Cottage is around 78 square meters and uses a Japanese-Western layout, giving you both tatami-style relaxation and Western-style ease. The Deluxe Type Cottages include a 78-square-meter Japanese-Western style, a 78-square-meter Japanese-style layout, and a 70-square-meter Western-style layout with sofa beds. The Standard Type Cottages include a 53-square-meter Japanese-Western style and a 44-square-meter Japanese-modern style, giving you a simpler and more compact stay while still keeping the privacy of a cottage.

If you travel with your dog, you can choose a pet-friendly cottage. The Standard Pet-Friendly Cottage is around 51 square meters with a Japanese-Western layout, while the Superior Pet-Friendly Cottage also measures around 51 square meters and includes an indoor hot spring bath. Pet-friendly cottages are for dogs only, and small to medium indoor dogs can stay in these cottages.

Each cottage includes useful items for an easy stay, such as a two-door refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, plates, chopsticks, forks, spoons, glasses, teacups, a small fruit knife, a small cutting board, bottle opener, and wine opener. Some cottages also have a kitchen with cooking utensils. Seasonings are not provided, so you should bring your own if you plan to cook.

Dining

Renessa Jogasaki no longer operates its restaurant, so meals now work in a flexible cottage-style way. You can bring food and drinks into your cottage, prepare simple meals with the in-room equipment, or use a kitchen-equipped cottage if you want to cook more during your stay.

The shop and vending machines offer frozen food, drinks, snacks, light meals, and small items, so you can pick up something easy without leaving the property. The free lounge also adds a relaxed place to enjoy drinks during your stay, with alcoholic drinks such as highballs and sours, as well as soft drinks. Drink options may change without notice.

For outdoor dining, you can use the BBQ House with a paid grill rental. Food and seasonings are not prepared by the property, so you bring your own ingredients and enjoy a casual meal in the open air. The BBQ rental includes useful items such as chopsticks, cups, plates, napkins, tongs, a spatula, and a wine cooler, with each grill suitable for up to six people.

Onsen and Wellness

The hot spring experience at Renessa Jogasaki is private, simple, and easy to enjoy. Every cottage has an indoor hot spring bath, and all indoor baths use free-flowing hot spring water. You can soak at any time during your stay, including early morning, after a coastal walk, or late at night before bed.

The hot spring water is drawn from the Katase, Shirata, Naramoto in Atagawa, and Kitagawa sources. The spring quality is sodium-calcium chloride and sulfate spring water. The water is associated with relief for nerve pain, muscle pain, and fatigue recovery, making it a welcome part of a slow Izu break.

Renessa Jogasaki does not have a large public bath on the property. Instead, the focus is on private in-cottage bathing. You can also use the large public bath at the sister property, Renessa Akazawa, free of charge, but that bath is located at a different property and follows its own bath-use rules.

Guests with Tattoos

Because every cottage has a private indoor hot spring bath and Renessa Jogasaki does not have a large public bath on-site, you can enjoy the hot spring in your own cottage in privacy. If you use the large public bath at Renessa Akazawa, you need to follow the bathing rules of that separate property.

Facilities

Renessa Jogasaki has a front building, a free lounge, a shop, vending machines, a BBQ House, a seasonal outdoor pool, a meeting room, a kick bike park for young children, free Wi-Fi, and cottage-style accommodation spread across a site of about 6,000 tsubo. The free lounge is available from 13:00 to 21:00 on your stay date and offers alcohol and soft drinks, along with a comic corner with around 1,000 manga books. The shop sells frozen food, and the BBQ House has Wi-Fi and paid grill rental for outdoor meals. The seasonal pool includes a 25-meter pool and a children’s pool, and you can use it before check-in and after check-out during the pool season. The meeting room can be used for telework or small seminars of around 20 people and has Wi-Fi. The kick bike park is designed for children around 2 to 7 years old, and rental is available for a fee with a helmet and protectors. Tennis courts are no longer in operation.

Activities

Renessa Jogasaki gives you easy access to the natural beauty of the Izu Peninsula. You can walk to Igaiga-ne in about five minutes, where you can see the rugged lava-rock coastline and feel the sea breeze. You can also visit the Jogasaki suspension bridge area by car in about five minutes, where the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge stretches 48 meters across the coast and rises about 23 meters above the sea.

Nearby sightseeing spots make the stay easy to shape around your interests. Mount Omuro is about 15 minutes away by car, and you can visit this well-known Izu landmark for wide views over the area. Izu Shaboten Zoo is about 20 minutes away by car, while Izu Granpal Park is about 10 minutes away and offers activities for families, groups, and dogs. In spring, you can visit Sakura no Sato near Mount Omuro or the Izu-Kogen cherry blossom avenue. For a slower day, Lake Ippeki is about 20 minutes away by car and offers seasonal scenery around the water.

Additional Features

Check-in starts at 15:00, and check-out is by 10:00. If you arrive by train, you can call from Izu-Kogen Station, and the property can pick you up from the North Exit between 15:00 and 17:00. Morning shuttle service from the property to the station is available between 9:00 and 11:00. If you arrive by car, the drive from Tokyo takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes by expressway, while the drive from the Nagoya side via Shin-Tomei Nagaizumi IC takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

You can bring food and drinks into your cottage, and nearby supermarkets make self-catering easier.
