Overview

Mana House offers a small, welcoming hotel experience in the Hirano area of Yamanakako, with views toward Mount Fuji and easy access to the lake’s natural scenery. With only 12 rooms, the atmosphere feels personal and relaxed, giving you a comfortable base for exploring the Fuji Five Lakes region.

The experience centres on three simple pleasures: French-inspired dining, local wine, and warm bathing in Yamanakako Onsen. After a day by the lake, you can return for dinner, enjoy a private soak, and settle into the quiet forest setting.

Mana House suits you when you want the character of an independent hotel rather than a large resort. Friendly service, individually designed rooms, outdoor bathing, and a home-like atmosphere create an easy mountain escape.

Accommodation

Mana House has 12 rooms, including double, twin, suite, and Japanese-Western options. The interiors have been coordinated with comfort and individuality in mind, so the rooms feel warmer and more personal than standard hotel accommodation.

Every room includes a private bathroom and toilet, heating and air conditioning, television, refrigerator, electric kettle, hairdryer, towels, toiletries, yukata, and slippers. Free Wi-Fi allows you to plan your day or stay connected during a longer visit.

Rooms suit couples, solo trips, and family holidays. Larger categories give you more space to relax, while compact rooms provide a practical choice when most of your time will be spent exploring Lake Yamanaka and Mount Fuji.

Check-in begins at 15:00, with final check-in at 21:00. Check-out is by 11:00.

Dining

Dining is one of the main attractions at Mana House. Dinner is served as a French course in the on-site restaurant, giving you a more distinctive evening than a standard pension meal.

Carefully prepared dishes are paired with a selection of dry wines from Yamanashi, one of Japan’s leading wine regions. The combination of French cooking, local wine, and the intimate dining room creates a relaxed meal that suits couples and special occasions.

Breakfast is also served in the restaurant when included in your chosen plan. A barbecue area provides another dining option during suitable seasons and available plans.

Onsen and wellness

Mana House offers Yamanakako Onsen bathing in both indoor and open-air settings. The alkaline spring water is heated and managed through circulation and filtration to maintain comfortable bathing conditions.

The outdoor bathing areas include a fragrant hinoki cypress bath and a stone bath. Their natural materials and open-air setting create a relaxing way to end a day of cycling, hiking, or sightseeing around Mount Fuji.

Private bathing is available, allowing you to enjoy the onsen with your partner, family, or travel companions without sharing the space.

Guests with tattoos

If you have tattoos, you can enjoy the hot spring in one of the private baths. The private setting allows you to bathe comfortably with your own group.

Facilities

Mana House includes an on-site restaurant, bar lounge, indoor hot spring baths, open-air baths, and a barbecue area. Free Wi-Fi is available in the rooms, while paid bicycle rental gives you an easy way to explore the lake and surrounding roads. Free parking is available for 13 cars on a first-come basis, with no advance reservation required.

Activities

Lake Yamanaka gives you plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors. You can walk beside the water, rent a bicycle and follow the lakeside route, or search for clear views of Mount Fuji from the Hirano side of the lake.

Nearby attractions include Yamanakako Hananomiyako Park, where seasonal flowers create colourful foregrounds for Mount Fuji, and Panorama-dai, known for wide views across the lake and surrounding mountains.

You can also visit Ishiwari Shrine, explore local hiking routes, try water activities, or take a sightseeing cruise aboard the Swan Lake boat. After a full day outdoors, the private open-air baths and French dinner offer a relaxing finish.

Additional features

The hotel offers 12 rooms, private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, French course dining, Yamanashi wines, indoor and open-air Yamanakako Onsen baths, private bathing, a barbecue area, paid bicycle rental, and free parking for 13 cars. The property is around 15 minutes by car from Yamanakako Interchange and around 30 minutes by car from Fujisan Station.
