Overview
Tsubakino Ryokan is located in the famous Kinosaki Onsen and it is known as the “Gallery Ryokan”. This is because this beautiful ryokan showcases original artwork throughout. Tsubakino Ryokan has been welcoming guests for the past 90 years.
Accommodation
The rooms at Tsubakino are divided between its main building and an annex. If you’ve ever wanted to stay in a ryokan with a touch of Zen, then Tsubakino Ryokan is for you. Main building rooms are traditional Washitsu with tatami, sliding doors and futon bedding. You’ll notice artwork depicting Ksitigarbha bodhisattva on the walls.
The annex is a mix of Japanese and Western, with twin rooms and traditional decor. These rooms overlook the perfectly trimmed Japanese garden.
Dining
Dining at Tsubakino is part of the experience with an abundance of fresh ingredients sourced from both the local mountains and the Sea of Japan. You will be served Tsuiyama Crab and Snow Crab in winter, and year-round, the highest grade Tajima beef.
Onsen & Wellness
Tsubakino has both private and public baths onsite. The private Sarasa-no-Yu is filled with micro-sized bubbles. Kazahana-no-Yu is a cypress bath in an open air setting.
The public baths, “Chyoraku” and “Kouchyou,” have a jacuzzi and views of a small Japanese garden. Of course, Tsubakino is also within walking distance from the main Kinosaki Onsen public bathhouses which are all tattoo friendly.
