The Annex Kawano Iori, accessible via a private suspension bridge over the Kiyotaki River, offers rooms with open-air baths made of local materials like Shigaraki ware or Kitayama cedar, providing guests with a private and serene experience.

At Kyoto Takao Momijiya you will enjoy seasonal Kyoto Kaiseki cuisine, made with fresh, local ingredients. Meals are designed to highlight the flavors of each season, from spring delicacies to autumn specialties such as matsutake mushrooms. Though not a natural hot spring, both the main building and annex offer relaxing open-air baths with breathtaking views of Takao’s natural landscape. The annex rooms come with private open-air baths, while the main building features two open-air observation baths, “Star” and “Moon,” available by reservation. For those seeking an indoor option, small private baths are also available.

Guests with Tattoos

Guests with tattoos can use the private baths, as there are no restrictions on personal bathing spaces. Public baths, however, will have limitations and you will need to cover your tattoo with a sticker.
