Overview

KAMENOI HOTEL ATAMI is a hot spring hotel set on a hill overlooking Atami city and Sagami Bay. From your room balcony, you can take in the golden sunrise, the blue sea, and the lights of Atami at night. The property renewed rooms with open-air baths, the lobby, and the Japanese restaurant in March 2025, giving you more ways to enjoy a coastal stay with hot springs, family-friendly spaces, and relaxed dining.

The hotel works especially well if you want an easy Atami base. JR Atami Station is about 15 minutes away by free shuttle bus, with advance reservation required, or about 20 minutes by local bus.

Accommodation

You can choose from ocean-view rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, Western-style quad rooms, rooms with open-air baths, baby rooms, kids’ rooms, and a barrier-free room. The hotel sits above Atami and Sagami Bay, so many rooms focus on balcony views, sunrise light, and open coastal scenery. All rooms are non-smoking, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms.

For a special stay, the Deluxe Panorama View Fourth with Open-air Bath and Ocean View Fourth with Open-Air Bath let you soak while looking out toward Sagami Bay and Atami city. The open-air baths in these rooms are not hot spring baths, but these rooms include added touches such as ReFa hair dryers, ReFa hair irons, and coffee machines.

If you are travelling with children, the Premier Baby Room is certified as a “Welcome Baby Inn” by MIKI HOUSE Childcare Research Institute. It has a ship-style design, a crib, a picture book corner, baby equipment, a humidifier/air purifier, a microwave, an electric kettle, a baby bottle sterilizer, children’s tableware, a baby bath, and more. The Premier Kids Room has bright colours, a playful design, hammocks, toys, and useful child-friendly items.

You can also choose spacious family and quad rooms. The Deluxe Panorama View Family Room is a larger 53㎡ room, the Ocean View Deluxe Fourth gives you balcony sunset views on clear days, and the Deluxe Quad is a Western-style room with a living area. Japanese-Western rooms combine beds with a tatami area, while the Superior Quad rooms focus on simple space where you can relax on a bed, chair, or in a living area.

Dining

At ATAMI BOLD KITCHEN, you can enjoy a buffet built around the theme of “Atami gourmet and Italian breeze.” The restaurant serves around 90 Japanese and Western dishes, with a live kitchen preparing seafood-focused dishes, beef teppanyaki, plump fried horse mackerel, grilled scallops, and pizza. Dinner runs from 17:30 to 21:00, with last orders at 20:30, while breakfast runs from 7:00 to 9:30, with last orders at 9:00.

Families are well looked after at the buffet. The kids’ corner has a counter set at a child-friendly height, classic favourites such as octopus sausages and potato gratin, and baby food for 5, 7, 9, and 12 months. Baby drinks and baby chairs are also available.

For a slower dinner, you can choose the Japanese restaurant “Atami,” which serves carefully prepared Japanese course meals. This restaurant looks out over the Atami sea and opens for dinner from 17:45 to 21:00, with last orders at 20:30. Both dinner and breakfast are served in restaurants, not in your room.

Onsen and Wellness

You can soak in natural Atami Onsen at the large public bath. The bathing area includes an indoor bath, a semi-open-air bath, and a reclining bath. The semi-open-air bath is screened from surrounding buildings, so you can soak without an open view but with more privacy.

The spring water is a calcium sodium-sulfate and chloride hot spring. It is hypotonic, slightly alkaline, and high temperature. The hotel lists bathing indications including neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, stiff shoulders, sensitivity to cold, fatigue, cuts, burns, and chronic skin conditions.

The large public bath is open from 5:30 to 11:00 and 15:00 to 24:00. On Thursdays, morning hours are 5:30 to 10:00 due to pipe disinfection. After your bath, you can enjoy free ice cream in front of the large bath, with flavours such as melon, lemon, cola, and soda, while supplies last.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have a tattoo, please make sure that your tattoo is not visible to other customers.
