Overview
Negiya Ryofukaku is a ryokan located in Arima Onsen, one of Japan’s oldest and most famous hot spring areas. Negiya Ryofukaku is surrounded by tranquil forests and has a rich history, dating back to its days as a lodging for Shinto priests.
Negiya Ryofukaku wants you to experience traditional Japanese hospitality while being immersed in nature, with rooms featuring views of seasonal maple trees and the surrounding mountains.
Accommodation
Negiya Ryofukaku offers both Japanese-style and Japanese-Western hybrid rooms. Options include traditional tatami rooms overlooking the maple trees, rooms with open-air baths, and modern spaces equipped with massage chairs and other comforts.
Several rooms offer panoramic views of the forested mountains too. Only some rooms have private baths, but not to worries as you can enjoy the large communal baths at any time of the night, except during cleaning hours.
Dining
Negiya’s dining experience revolves around seasonal kaiseki cuisine, featuring fresh fish and vegetables from the Kobe Central Wholesale Market. Savor a monthly changing menu designed to highlight the best seasonal ingredients. Special courses such as Kobe beef sukiyaki or shabu-shabu are also available, as well as traditional breakfast sets to start the day with energy.
Onsen & Wellness
Negiya features both public and private baths using the famous golden spring waters of Arima Onsen. The large Hinoki no Yu bath is made of cypress wood and offers views of maple trees, while the open-air Hanare no Yu allows you to bathe under a zelkova tree.
For a more private experience, two reservable baths are available, “Yoruha no Yu” and “Natsume no Yu,” offering indoor and semi-open-air bathing experiences.
Guests with Tattoos
Guests with tattoos are asked to use private baths, as the communal baths follow traditional onsen rules. The private baths can be reserved for 45-minute sessions.
Facilities
Negiya provides a variety of facilities to enhance the stay, including the library lounge “The Perch,” where guests can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Arima. The deluxe rooms have a small garden and massage chairs.
