Overview

Private Villa 蒼 gives you a private coastal stay in Taiza, Kyotango, with two whole-house villas overlooking the Sea of Japan. You stay in a quiet residential area near the coast, with the beach about 5 minutes away on foot and wide sea views from the property. Each villa is designed for an independent stay, with a private natural hot spring, sauna, kitchen, and deck terrace.

This is a good choice if you want privacy, space, and the freedom to spend your time your own way. You can cook with local ingredients, enjoy the sauna, soak in your private bath, and stay for a full 22 hours from check-in to check-out.

Accommodation

You can choose from two villas: Lino and Lala. Lino is a single-story villa for up to 4 people, with one bedroom, four beds, one bathroom, a private hot spring, sauna, kitchen, and deck terrace. It works well for couples, close friends, or a smaller group.

Lala is a two-story villa for up to 6 people, with one bedroom, six beds, one bathroom, a private hot spring, sauna, kitchen, and deck terrace. It suits families or groups who want more space while keeping the same private-villa setup.

Both villas include practical features such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, kettle, rice cooker, TV, hair dryer, towels, bath towels, sauna ponchos, toothbrush sets, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, and kitchenware.

Dining

Private Villa 蒼 is a self-catering stay, so you decide how and when you want to eat. The kitchen is equipped with an IH stove, refrigerator, microwave, rice cooker, kettle, tableware, and basic cooking tools, making it easy to prepare meals with ingredients you pick up along the way.

This setup works especially well in Kyotango, where you can bring back local seafood, vegetables, rice, and drinks, then enjoy them in the dining area or on the terrace. Only salt and pepper are provided, so you should bring or buy any extra seasonings you need.

BBQ is possible in the dedicated area near the entrance, not on the wooden deck. A BBQ set can be rented for 4,000 yen and includes the grill, charcoal, fire starter, and tongs. Advance reservation is required.

Onsen and Wellness

Each villa has a private natural hot spring bath, so you can soak whenever you like during your stay. The bath uses Kounotsuru Onsen water from the Taiza Onsen area, giving you a private hot spring experience without shared bathing spaces or set bath times.

You also have your own sauna. After the sauna, you can cool down on the deck terrace and enjoy the sea breeze. This makes the villa a strong choice if you want your stay to focus on bathing, sauna time, and quiet recovery.

Guests with Tattoos

Tattoos are not a concern inside the villa. You have your own private hot spring bath and sauna, so you can use them freely without sharing the space with anyone outside your group.

If you visit public baths or onsen nearby, check each facility’s tattoo policy before you go.

Facilities

  • Private Natural Hot Spring: Soak in your own bath at any time during your stay.
  • Private Sauna: Enjoy sauna time in your villa, followed by outdoor cooling on the terrace.
  • Kitchen and Dining Area: Cook with local ingredients using the in-villa kitchen, tableware, cookware, rice cooker, microwave, oven, kettle, refrigerator, and freezer.
  • Deck Terrace: Spend time outdoors with views toward the Sea of Japan.
  • Free Wi-Fi: Stay connected during your visit.
  • Free Parking: Parking is available for your stay.
  • BBQ Rental: Rent a BBQ set for an additional fee with advance reservation.
  • Safety Equipment: Smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher are provided.

Activities

You can keep your stay simple and spend most of your time inside the villa: cooking, soaking, using the sauna, reading on the terrace, or walking to the nearby beach. The property also works well as a base for exploring the Tango Peninsula by car.

Nearby coastal highlights include Tateiwa Rock and Nochigahama Beach, one of Kyotango’s well-known geopark spots, with a 20-meter monolith standing along the shoreline. The Taiza coastline is also part of the Kyotango Geotrail route, giving you a good option for coastal walking and scenery.

You can also plan day trips to Amanohashidate or Ine no Funaya, both well-known northern Kyoto destinations that pair well with a private-villa stay in Kyotango.
