Overview

Located in the Miyanoshita area of Hakone, Fujiya Hotel is a celebrated classic that dates back to 1878, known for its historic charm and hospitality. The elegant Western-style architecture, mixed with Japanese influences, reflects over 140 years of history while providing modern comforts to guests. The hotel sits amidst beautiful natural surroundings, making it a wonderful base to explore Hakone.

Accommodation

Fujiya Hotel offers four unique accommodation buildings, each exuding its distinct character. The Main Building, constructed in 1891, features a blend of Japanese and Western styles, showcasing a gabled entrance and traditional tiled roofs.

The Western-style Building, completed in 1906, is known for its high ceilings, classic decor, and retains much of its original Meiji-era charm. The Hanagoten (Flower Palace), built in 1936, presents a delightful Japanese aesthetic, complete with floral motifs and a crimson balustrade balcony, offering rooms named after flowers.

Finally, the Forest Wing—nestled on a hillside—provides stunning views of the Hakone landscape, allowing guests to enjoy nature throughout the four seasons.

Each room is equipped with natural hot spring water from Miyanoshita Onsen, allowing you to relax and unwind right in the comfort of your own room.

Dining

Dining at Fujiya Hotel offers a taste of history through its three restaurants. The Fujiya Main Dining Room is an iconic French restaurant that has been serving guests since 1930. Set beneath a beautifully decorated high ceiling, you can enjoy refined French dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Former Imperial Villa Kikkaso offers traditional Japanese cuisine, perfect for enjoying the seasonal changes in the surrounding gardens.

Restaurant Cascade offers Western cuisine in a historic Taisho-era setting, complete with original stained glass windows and antique sculptures. For a more casual experience, the Lounge offers light meals, sweets, and beverages throughout the day, including their famous apple pie.

Onsen & Wellness

The hot springs of Miyanoshita have been a cherished retreat since the Edo period, and Fujiya Hotel continues this tradition. The spa facilities located in the Forest Wing feature communal baths and a relaxation area named “Zen,” offering stunning views of the Hakone mountains.

Weddings & Special Events

Fujiya Hotel also serves as an elegant venue for weddings and special events, offering a timeless setting filled with historic details. The Classic Chapel within the hotel features wood accents and a historic music box, providing an intimate and memorable space for couples. You also have the option to hold ceremonies at nearby iconic locations, including Hakone Shrine, for a unique blend of Western and Japanese styles.
