Overview
Amane Resort Seikai stretches along the coastline of Beppu Bay, offering you ocean views and the soothing sounds of waves from every room. Every room includes an open-air hot spring bath, filled directly from the source. Whether you want to relax on your terrace, dine on freshly caught seafood, or soak in a rooftop spa, this ryokan invites you to slow down and savor your time. The peaceful rhythm of the ocean guides your stay from beginning to end.
Accommodation
Choose from 14 room types across three distinct buildings—Harenoto, Uminoto, and Soranoto. Each room includes an ocean view and an open-air hot spring bath. Beds are by Simmons, known for exceptional comfort, and layouts vary from spacious suites to universal-access rooms.
Harenoto Building features large layouts with a calm ambiance. For example, Type A2 offers a twin-bedroom, a 14-mat living room, a sunroom, and a walk-in closet. Type D2 delivers an airy space with a large living area and window-side beds.
Harenoto Tenbo, a more secluded section, includes redesigned rooms like Type O “Yoi Kaze,” where two rooms have been merged into one expansive space with panoramic views of the Kunisaki Peninsula. Type G combines Japanese and Western elements and includes a large terrace bath.
Uminoto Building showcases a clean, modern design. Type I is a compact twin room ideal for one or two people. Type J and K feature both Western beds and tatami space for futons. The corner suite, Type L, comes with an extra-large terrace and oversized bath.
Soranoto Building includes special rooms like the Type PS Junior Suite, which comes with a private pool, jacuzzi, semi-open-air bath, and daybeds. Other rooms include universal access designs and flexible sleeping arrangements for up to four people.
Dining
You can choose from three restaurants, each highlighting local flavors from both sea and mountain.
Japanese Cuisine Gen serves seasonal kaiseki in private rooms, allowing you to enjoy a quiet, personal dining experience. Located in Harenoto’s second floor, this restaurant focuses on traditional techniques and local ingredients.
Seafood Restaurant Eitaro specializes in natural fish and shellfish. Enjoy the rich flavors of fresh seafood in a lively setting with both private and open seating options. This restaurant is on the second floor of Uminoto.
Bistro Vannuovo delivers French-style dishes prepared with ingredients from Beppu and surrounding regions. The atmosphere is casual but the dishes are elegant. You can dine here on the first floor of Uminoto.
For breakfast, you can select a Japanese set meal at Gen or enjoy a Western-style buffet at Vannuovo. Both options use local, seasonal ingredients to give you a refreshing start to your day.
Onsen and Wellness
Soak in mineral-rich hot spring water while gazing at the ocean. The open-air bath on the first floor, Shiosai no Yu, feels like it floats right on the sea—people often call it “zero meters above sea level.” The indoor and outdoor baths include jacuzzis, saunas, and even cold seawater baths.
You can also visit Shiosai SPA Mizuki, located on the top floor, for aromatherapy, facials, and full-body treatments. The ocean view adds a layer of calm to each session. Treatments are available to both overnight and day-use visitors.
Guests with Tattoos
If you have tattoos, you can use the private bath options available in-room or enjoy spa treatments. There is no restriction for tattooed visitors using their own private facilities.
Facilities
The lobby opens up to panoramic ocean views, setting a peaceful tone the moment you enter. A select shop in Soranoto offers handpicked souvenirs from across Oita Prefecture, as well as skincare and room items used during your stay. Shipping services are available if you’d like to send gifts home.
You can also spend time at Terrace Bar Voyage in the evening. Located in Soranoto, this bar includes both counter seating and outdoor terraces where you can enjoy cocktails with a sea breeze. The bar operates from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
If you’re traveling for work or a small event, Uminoto has rental rooms including a boardroom and an event space called Sweet Basil.
Activities
While Amane Resort Seikai is a destination in itself, the location makes it easy to explore Beppu’s famous hot springs and cultural attractions. Whether you’re heading out or staying in, your time flows naturally with the rhythm of the ocean. You can enjoy seasonal festivals, special live performances, or explore the nearby coast on foot.
