Aji Onsen

Aji Onsen, nestled within the lush forests of Kagawa Prefecture, is an enchanting hot spring area that has been quietly appealing to discerning bathers for centuries. Its name, which means ‘flavor’ in Japanese, is an apt descriptor of the rich mineral content of its waters. The area is famous for its gensen kakenagashi, a type of onsen where the hot spring water flows directly from the source, untouched by any artificial treatment.

The serene ambiance of Aji Onsen is enhanced by its beautiful natural surroundings, offering a calming retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The onsen village itself is small, but dotted with charming ryokan (traditional Japanese inns) where visitors can stay overnight. During the day, guests can explore the local area, which is home to historic temples, quaint craft shops, and delightful walking paths that wind through the forest.
