Yuda Onsen

Yuda Onsen, nestled in Yamaguchi Prefecture, is a cherished thermal bath resort with a legacy stretching back to the Heian period. It was discovered about 800 years ago when a white fox was seen healing its wounds in the hot spring, earning it a divine status. Yuda Onsen is celebrated for its mild, slightly alkaline waters that are said to alleviate muscle, joint pains and improve skin conditions. The hot spring water here is so pure that it is also used for drinking and cooking.

The charm of Yuda Onsen extends beyond its therapeutic waters. The quaint town is adorned with traditional lanterns, and its streets are lined with elegant ryokan, modern hotels, and inviting eateries. A walk around the town reveals a stunning Japanese garden at the center, a testament to the area’s natural beauty. A visit here offers a holistic experience of relaxation, culture, and culinary delight – a true embodiment of the Japanese concept of iki, or refined living.
