Kyushu Japanese Ryokans and Onsen

The Kyushu region is located in the southwest of Japan, comprising seven prefectures: Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Ōita, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima. Kyushu has active volcanoes, historical sites, and thriving cities, providing a dynamic blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Fukuoka is the biggest city in Kyushu. It is known for its ancient temples, modern shopping districts, and famous Hakata ramen. Nagasaki brings a poignant history with its Peace Park and Atomic Bomb Museum, alongside beautiful historic churches reflecting its unique colonial past. Kumamoto features the impressive Kumamoto Castle, while Kagoshima, positioned near the active Sakurajima volcano, offers dramatic landscapes.

The region is also famous for its onsen, particularly in Beppu and Yufuin in Ōita, known for their thermal hot springs.
