Overview
Just 30 minutes from central Osaka by car or train, Fushio-Kaku gives you a chance to step away from the city’s pace and recharge in a natural setting. This hot spring ryokan sits in the quiet hills of Ikeda, where the scenery shifts with each season—from cherry blossoms in spring to fireflies in early summer, colorful leaves in autumn, and crisp starlit skies in winter. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, a romantic escape, or a relaxing day trip, this ryokan offers a flexible and inviting stay.
The hot spring water at Fushio-Kaku flows from its own natural source. This sodium bicarbonate spring is known for its beauty benefits and health effects, helping you relax and feel refreshed. You can enjoy the open-air baths while taking in views of nature, or spend time in the indoor baths designed for comfort and calm.
Fushio-Kaku also brings local flavors to the table with meals focused on seasonal ingredients and regional specialties. From kaiseki cuisine to wild game and fugu in the winter months, each dish is thoughtfully prepared. You can enjoy your meals in the privacy of your room or at a dining hall that overlooks the surrounding scenery.
You don’t have to stay overnight to enjoy what this ryokan offers. Day-trip plans include access to hot springs, private rooms, and full-course meals. These short escapes are perfect for anyone with a busy schedule who still wants to slow down and enjoy a few hours of rest and good food.
Whether you’re traveling with family, a partner, or your dog—or even planning a work retreat or special celebration—Fushio-Kaku has the space, hospitality, and comfort to fit your plans.
Accommodation
Choose from traditional Japanese-style rooms, rooms with open-air baths, and pet-friendly spaces. The sixth and seventh floors feature 20 rooms with private open-air baths. Each comes with a massage chair to help you unwind. Standard rooms offer views of Mt. Satsuki and provide plenty of space to relax. For travelers with dogs, select rooms include an open-air bath and a bath just for your pet. Western-style and twin tatami rooms are also available, ideal for solo travel, business stays, or working remotely.
Dining
Enjoy seasonal Kyoto-style kaiseki meals prepared with local ingredients. Choose from chef’s choice menus, seafood-focused dishes, black wagyu beef, or wild game. In winter, savor Osaka’s local specialty—fugu (pufferfish). Meals are served in your room or at the ryokan’s dining areas. Breakfast includes Japanese and Western options, local favorites, and a healthy buffet with freshly made dishes.
Onsen and Wellness
Relax in the sodium bicarbonate spring water that flows directly from the source on the property. Known for its skin-smoothing effects, this hot spring boosts circulation and is gentle on your body. Soak in open-air baths surrounded by seasonal scenery, or unwind in the spacious indoor bath. Women’s changing rooms include facial steamers to help you care for your skin after your soak.
Guests with Tattoos
The ryokan does not allow anyone with tattoos to use the large public baths or open-air baths. You may be asked to leave if you are found bathing with tattoos.
Facilities
Spend time in the traditional lobby and lounge, or reserve the private bath for a more intimate experience. Host meals or events in banquet rooms that accommodate up to 200 people. Meeting rooms and multipurpose halls are also available, making Fushio-Kaku a good choice for work retreats and gatherings. For leisure, visit the barbecue garden or treat yourself at the on-site spa.
