Overview
Hotel Kusakabe Armeria welcomes you to Gero, one of Japan’s most beloved hot spring destinations. The hotel combines Japanese-style comfort with entertainment, relaxation, and warm hospitality. From soothing baths to colorful yukatas and lively shows, you’ll find everything you need to enjoy your stay to the fullest.
Accommodation
Choose between two styles of Japanese-style rooms—those in the main building and those in the newer building. Each space features simple, relaxing décor and traditional tatami flooring.
Main Building Rooms: These rooms feel cozy and traditional. They’re non-smoking and include basic furnishings for a relaxing stay.
New Building Rooms: These larger rooms offer great views of the hot spring town. You can enjoy a comfortable stay with more space and smoking permitted.
Both types of rooms include Wi-Fi, a TV, an air conditioner, a strongbox, an electric hot-water pot, and a bathroom (some without bidet). You’ll also find amenities such as Japanese bathrobes, toothbrush sets, towels, skincare items, and more. Select your yukata and extra items freely at the amenity corner on the first floor.
Dining
Dinner at the hotel offers two main styles. You can enjoy a buffet with more than 50 dishes—Japanese, Western, and Chinese—all served with unlimited drinks. Watch chefs grill meat, prepare sushi, and create sizzling yakitori at the open kitchen. Dessert lovers can dive into chocolate fondue, mini cakes, and fruit.
If you prefer a more refined meal, sample a traditional kaiseki dinner crafted with seasonal ingredients. Dishes may include Hida beef, fresh sashimi, and locally inspired appetizers. The kitchen uses ingredients unique to the region and adjusts menus seasonally.
In the morning, you can choose between a Japanese-style breakfast or a buffet of both Japanese and Western favorites. Enjoy freshly baked bread, hot miso soup, and juices or coffee to start your day right.
Onsen and Wellness
Gero Onsen is one of Japan’s top three hot springs, alongside Arima and Kusatsu. The hotel draws hot spring water directly from the source. This slightly alkaline mineral water feels smooth and gentle on your skin, and it helps you relax and recharge.
Hanamiduki no Yu (8F): Take in views of the hot spring town from the large open-air baths made entirely of cypress wood. Let the calming scent of the wood and the warm water help you unwind. You’ll also find a spacious indoor bath here.
Yu no Mori Kur Cardinal (2F): Explore the kurhaus-style spa area with a jacuzzi, a cascading bath, and a sauna. It’s perfect for easing away stress after travel.
All baths provide essentials like shampoo, body wash, razors, cotton swabs, and hair dryers.
Guests with Tattoos
The hotel does not restrict bath use for guests with tattoos. You’re welcome to enjoy all spa areas during your stay.
