Overview

Step into the quiet embrace of nature at Ginsuiso Choraku, Villa Shiki. This ryokan sits on a forested hill in Arima, surrounded by the dramatic beauty of Mount Rokko. You can enjoy forest bathing as you relax in hot springs drawn straight from the earth. These include Kinsen, a golden, iron-rich spring, and Ginsen, a radium-infused silver spring.

You’ll find peace and privacy in a refined Japanese setting, where the staff welcomes you with warm hospitality and thoughtful care. Each stay is designed to give you a one-of-a-kind experience in a tranquil atmosphere.

Accommodation

Choose from a wide range of rooms tailored to your needs. Whether you want a cozy space or something more luxurious, you’ll find the perfect room for your retreat.

Japanese-style Rooms: Traditional rooms range from 32 to 60 square meters. Some offer sweeping views of the Rokko Mountains or the forests surrounding Arima.

Suites: Spacious suites feature two connected rooms in either all-Japanese or Japanese-Western styles. These offer more space for families or those who want to relax in comfort.

Choyoan: A renovated banquet hall now serves as a large room with a private open-air Ginsen bath and a steam bath. Overlooking a Japanese garden, this room is ideal for families or groups looking to enjoy their time together.

Western-style Comfort Twin: A Western-style twin room with a calm atmosphere, perfect for those who prefer beds and a sitting area with a sofa.

Each room includes yukata, bath towels, toiletries, and a tea set. You can also choose your favorite pattern of yukata from the selection provided.

Dining

Enjoy seasonal multi-course meals carefully crafted with fresh local ingredients. Dinner highlights include seafood from the Akashi Strait and premium black Wagyu beef. Meals are beautifully presented and served in your room or in the dining area, depending on your preference.

You can also add special dishes like stone-grilled Wagyu, seafood, or vegetable tempura. If you have food allergies or special dietary needs, the ryokan can adjust the menu with advance notice. Breakfast includes premium eggs, grilled dried fish, and traditional Japanese dishes. Western breakfast options are available if you let the staff know by 4 p.m. on your check-in day.

Onsen and Wellness

You’ll find both Kinsen and Ginsen waters flowing naturally on the grounds. Kinsen has a golden hue and is rich in iron, known for relieving fatigue and improving circulation. Ginsen contains radium and radon, which may help stimulate your body’s natural healing powers.

There are two large public baths and two Kunugi-no-yu baths, which alternate between men’s and women’s use at different times of day. The baths include features like jacuzzis, standing baths, and foot massage stones.

For more privacy, reserve a private open-air bath after you check in. These baths sit outdoors, surrounded by forest and fresh mountain air. You can enjoy either Kinsen or Ginsen waters in complete seclusion.

Guests with Tattoos

You can use the public baths as long as your tattoos are not visible. Please cover all tattoos with appropriate seals. Of course, tattoos are fully welcome in private onsen.

Facilities

Private Open-Air Baths: Enjoy a bath under the open sky in a peaceful natural setting. These baths must be reserved after check-in.

Kunugi-no-yu Baths: Surrounded by oak trees, these baths offer low temperatures and radon-rich water for longer, more soothing soaks.

Large Public Baths: Open from early morning until late at night, these areas include open-air baths, indoor baths, and dry saunas.

Garden Views: Enjoy glimpses of Japanese gardens and the surrounding woods from many parts of the property.

Yukata Lounge: Select your preferred color and design from the yukata corner before heading to the bath.
