Byakudan is a peaceful ryokan located in the quiet mountains of Gora, Hakone, surrounded by a large deciduous forest spanning about 12,000 square meters. This inn features 16 rooms, each with its own open-air bath supplied by natural hot springs. The architecture takes full advantage of the beautiful setting, combining traditional Japanese design with touches of modern craftsmanship by renowned designers. Named after sandalwood, known for its calming and purifying properties, Byakudan offers a relaxing atmosphere filled with the gentle scent of this aromatic wood.

Byakudan’s hot spring water is drawn directly from their private source, providing natural golden-colored mineral water that is mildly alkaline, known to make the skin smooth and to help with muscle and joint pain, among other benefits. Every room has an open-air bath, allowing you to enjoy the therapeutic properties of the hot spring water in complete privacy. Additionally, there are spacious public baths, beautifully decorated with natural stones, offering views of the forest and mountains for complete relaxation.
