Overview

Inatori Akao Hotel overlooks the Pacific Ocean from every room, offering you a relaxing escape in the Izu Peninsula. Located near the scenic Inatori fishing port, this ryokan blends tropical resort vibes with traditional Japanese comfort. Whether you’re visiting as a couple or with family, you’ll find spaces designed to help you unwind and reconnect. With open-air baths, ocean views, and fresh seafood served in a new dining style, you can experience both indulgence and comfort.

Accommodation

Every room at Inatori Akao Hotel faces the ocean, so you can wake up to wide blue views each morning. You can choose from several room types based on your style of travel. If you’re traveling as a couple, try a top-floor suite with a canopy bed and a private open-air hinoki bath. If you’re with your family, the larger Japanese-style rooms with indoor or semi-open baths give you plenty of space to spread out.

The luxury rooms on the top floor combine beds and futons with indoor and outdoor baths. Other options include newly renovated rooms with Japanese-Western layouts, rooms with ceramic tubs, and affordable Japanese-style spaces with views of the sea or the town of Inatori.

Dining

Your stay includes meals that bring together the flavor of a Japanese course dinner with the casual comfort of a buffet. At dinner, chefs prepare freshly cooked main dishes right in front of you at the open kitchen. You can go back for seconds of your favorites, whether that’s sashimi, grilled fish, or hot soups. Seasonal seafood takes center stage—like Izu’s famous alfonsino and even spiny lobster when available.

The breakfast buffet is just as generous. You can start your day with thick tamagoyaki, French toast, or seafood miso soup. If you prefer something Western, the open kitchen serves hot dishes like sausages and bread, with plenty of drinks like tea, coffee, and juices—all included.

Onsen and Wellness

The hotel offers seven private baths, including two open-air baths that let you soak while enjoying views of the trees or the ocean. Each one has a different design and mood—some with daybeds for relaxing, others with wide windows framing the coastal scenery. You can use these private baths for free, so there’s no need to rush.

There are also two large communal baths. One on the first floor sits beside a garden and feels like a tropical retreat, while the sixth-floor bath lets you watch the sun dip behind the Amagi mountains or see the stars come out over the ocean.

The hot spring water comes from a sodium-calcium chloride spring and is said to help ease muscle pain, poor circulation, and fatigue. The spring flows at a natural temperature of 84°C, so you’ll feel the warmth deep in your body.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, you can enjoy the private baths without restrictions. These spaces offer complete privacy and allow you to relax at your own pace.

Facilities

There’s plenty to explore inside the ryokan too. The outdoor pool area, called Blue Lagoon, has shallow and deep sections so everyone can enjoy it—from small children to adults floating on inflatable rings. You can also relax in two baths that you can enter while still in your swimsuit.

Inside, you’ll find a large indoor play area called Reso’cha IZU. It’s filled with trampolines, ball pits, climbing walls, and even zip lines, so children can stay entertained no matter the weather. There’s also a lounge where you can sip a welcome drink while looking out at the sea, a ping-pong area for some fun after dinner, a manga room to relax in while waiting for your bath, and a shop filled with local treats—like New Summer Orange jelly.

Activities

The hotel makes it easy to relax or explore. You can play ping pong, browse manga, or join seasonal events. For younger travelers, Reso’cha IZU offers hours of indoor fun. Depending on the time of year, you might also enjoy the cherry blossoms around the hotel or use the pool during summer.
