Overview

Isawa Tokiwa Hotel invites you to relax in the heart of Yamanashi, where hot spring water has flowed since 1961 from beneath a local vineyard. Surrounded by the rich nature of the Kofu Basin and known for its healing waters, this ryokan offers a peaceful stay enhanced by traditional hospitality, seasonal cuisine, and the famous “beautiful skin” onsen of Isawa.

Whether you’re traveling for a family trip, an anniversary, or a getaway with friends, this hotel provides a soothing atmosphere and easy access from major cities, with rooms designed for comfort and rest.

Accommodation

Choose from several room styles, each offering a relaxing environment where you can unwind at your own pace. All guest rooms include private baths filled with natural hot spring water.

Standard Japanese-style room (10 tatami mats): A classic room featuring tatami flooring and a traditional design. Relax in a quiet space with a unit bath supplied by the hot spring.

Superior Japanese-style room (12 tatami mats): Located on the top floor, this room offers more space and natural light. With a separate bath and toilet, it provides a refreshing experience with views and privacy.

Deluxe Japanese-style room (15 + 6 tatami mats): The largest room at the hotel, ideal for two families or special celebrations. Featuring a hinoki wood bathtub and plenty of space, it offers luxury and comfort for up to seven people.

All rooms come equipped with LCD TVs, a tea set, air purifiers with humidifiers, mini refrigerators, and Wi-Fi. You’ll also find bath amenities, yukata robes, and skincare products from Mistral Cosmetics.

Dining

Experience the rich flavors of Yamanashi through traditional kaiseki courses crafted with care. Every dish highlights the freshness of seasonal ingredients and local specialties like Koshuyaki beef—a premium wagyu raised in Yamanashi.

Ruri Kaiseki: The most premium option, this meal includes four different Koshuyaki beef dishes served in different styles—steamed, grilled, simmered, or as sushi. You’ll also enjoy seasonal sashimi, simmered dishes, and local fruits.

Hanamomo Kaiseki: A well-balanced standard course that includes three Koshuyaki beef preparations. Choose between sukiyaki or shabu-shabu for your main hot pot dish. This course offers a variety of textures and flavors, from delicate sushi to savory simmered items.

Breakfast

Start your day with a hearty Japanese breakfast. The meal includes Yamanashi’s signature houtou nabe (a thick miso-based noodle soup), grilled fish, dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet), and a choice between plain rice or a comforting beef bowl featuring Koshuyaki beef. Enjoy side dishes, salad, and yogurt to complete the meal.

Children’s Meals

For younger children, the hotel offers a special three-tiered meal with favorites like hamburger steak, omelets, sushi, and desserts. School-age children receive a simplified version of the adult meal, without alcoholic beverages. Meals are designed to please younger palates while providing variety and nutrition.

Food Allergies

If you have food allergies, notify the hotel at the time of reservation. The staff will do their best to adjust the meal while noting that all dishes are prepared in shared kitchens. Some ingredients like soy sauce or dashi may not be fully excluded due to their essential role in Japanese cuisine.

Onsen and Wellness

The onsen water at Isawa Tokiwa Hotel is drawn from the famous Isawa Hot Spring, known for its smooth, skin-softening qualities. The gentle alkalinity of the spring makes it ideal for relaxing both the body and mind.

Large Public Bath: A wide, well-lit bath adorned with mosaic tiles made from precious stones collected from around the world. The spacious tub lets you stretch out and soak while enjoying the peaceful setting.

Outdoor Bath: The open-air cypress bath surrounds you with the scent of wood and fresh mountain air. Soak in a round or square hinoki tub while taking in the serene garden atmosphere.

Private Bath: A secluded bath that uses 100% flowing spring water. Perfect for couples or families seeking a more personal experience, this space offers quiet relaxation with natural hinoki wood design.
