Overview

Escape the busy pace of everyday life and relax at Motoyu Ryuusenkaku, a warm, family-friendly ryokan in Arima Onsen. The name translates to “Dragon Spring Inn,” and it perfectly captures the soothing, natural energy of the hot springs flowing through the grounds. This ryokan offers a full experience—from the healing waters of the golden spring to carefully prepared Japanese meals and thoughtful amenities for families with children.

The atmosphere at Ryuusenkaku feels like home, but with a peaceful mountain backdrop and centuries of hot spring tradition. Whether you’re here to soak in the mineral baths, enjoy a quiet dinner in your room, or watch your children laugh and play in the kids’ area, you’ll find the time to reconnect with yourself and your loved ones.

Accommodation

Choose from a variety of Japanese-style rooms that combine comfort with scenic beauty. Whether you want to unwind in your own private open-air bath or relax in a room overlooking the Arima mountain range, every option brings a different layer of tranquility.

Family Suite “Hyoutan”

This is the largest room at the ryokan and fits up to six people. You can enjoy a private outdoor golden hot spring bath, an indoor bath with a TV, and a cozy loft designed especially for children. The room also features a kid-size washstand and a view of the inner garden through traditional shoji screens.

Mountain View Japanese Room (Upper Floor)

This room offers panoramic views of Mt. Rokko. Located on the higher floors, it features a wide enclosed veranda, a tiled bath, and soft tatami floors. It’s especially popular with families, and you can enjoy dinner in the privacy of your room.

Garden View Japanese Room (Ground Floor)

With sliding doors that open to a small enclosed garden space, this room offers peace and simplicity. It’s ideal if you prefer easy access to the lobby or other shared facilities. The interior is fully Japanese-style with soft tatami mats and clean, modern touches.

All rooms are non-smoking and include flat-screen TVs, air purifiers, yukata robes, and full amenities. You can enjoy a cup of coffee using the in-room coffee maker or relax with your family after a bath.

Dining

Dinner at Ryuusenkaku is served in your room, allowing you to dine at your own pace in total comfort. Choose from several meal plans that highlight Hyogo Prefecture’s finest ingredients. The cuisine centers around Japanese tradition, with dishes that reflect the season and local flavors.

Dinner Options

Meals include locally grown rice, seasonal vegetables, and seafood caught nearby. You can select courses that feature premium cuts of Kobe beef or enjoy a classic shabu-shabu dinner. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared to delight your taste buds and nourish your body.

Breakfast

Start your day with a Japanese-style breakfast made with ingredients sourced from the region. The flavors are mild and balanced, helping you ease into your morning with a full, warm meal.

Children’s Meals

Choose from a range of child-friendly options, including Baby Meal Sets, Children’s Meal Sets, and à la carte items tailored to allergy needs. Infant meals such as rice porridge and mashed vegetables are also available.

Onsen and Wellness

Soak in Arima’s legendary golden hot springs, known for their deep amber color and rich mineral content. The water flows directly from Ryuusenkaku’s own natural source, providing unmatched purity and therapeutic benefits.

Golden Springs (Kinsen)

These hot springs are high in iron and salt, which gives the water its unique reddish tint. The warmth helps ease muscle aches, neuralgia, fatigue, and poor circulation. The slight carbonation in the spring makes the surface shimmer like soda water, offering a deeply soothing bathing experience.

Indoor and Outdoor Baths

You can choose between two outdoor baths—each offering different scenery and styles—or use the indoor facilities in the comfort of your own room if you prefer privacy. The temperature and mineral quality of the water help your muscles relax and your body feel lighter, similar to floating in the sea.

Caution

Please consult a doctor if you have serious health concerns, as the springs are not recommended for certain conditions like severe heart disease or early pregnancy.

Guests with Tattoos

Tattoos are not restricted at Ryuusenkaku. However, if you have concerns, you can contact the ryokan before arrival to arrange for a private bathing time.

Facilities

Kid’s Corner

Let your children explore a play space filled with over 1,500 picture books, an original Arima Onsen backgammon game, and a seahorse-themed abacus. It’s a space where children can bond and parents can connect.

All meals are served in your room, offering you a relaxed and private dining experience without the need to dress up or hurry.
