Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei is a traditional Japanese ryokan located in the prestigious Kinosaki Onsen area. This is a stunning ryokan, with traditional tatami floors in your room, private onsen and exquisite kaiseki dinners.
Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei has a history of 160 years. The ryokan is especially proud of its large garden spanning 160,000 m2 and surrounded by forest.
Accommodation
Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei offers traditional Japanese style rooms with tatami floors, futon beds and classic decor. Some luxury rooms have private open air baths which are ideal for guests with tattoos.
One of the best rooms available at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei is the Keigetsu room which features an open air bath surrounded by forest. There are also western style rooms available for your comfort.
Dining
From November 7 to March 31, you will enjoy the winter kaiseki which features the special crab cuisine. Summer kaiseki is focused on fresh seasonal and bright ingredients.
Onsen & Wellness
Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei has a large public bath called Gekka no Yu. The waters here are chloride spring (pH 7.3, hot spring water). There is an open air bath (one for men and one for women), cold bath and dry sauna. There is also an after bath teahouse for you to relax.
There are three private onsen baths available to rent at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei: Japanese Gingetsu, the Balinese Fu-ro and the Chinese Linquan. It costs an additional 8800 yen per room to rent your own private onsen. Guests with tattoos can enjoy the private onsen.
When staying at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei you will also enjoy free access to all seven public hot springs of Kinosaki Onsen.
Guests with tattoos
If a guest has a tattoo, they may use the hotel hot spring bath if the tattoo can be covered by a waterproof seal. Please cover the tattoo before coming to the baths as the hotel does not supply waterproof seals. You can use the private onsen in your room or rent a private onsen for an additional cost.
