Accommodation
Nissho Besso offers several accommodation options, including the Main Building, Tachibana Building, Ukon Tachibana, and Rantei. Each room is unique, providing you with traditional Japanese-style features like tatami floors and shoji sliding doors.
- Main Building: This two-story wooden building has been converted from an Edo-period merchant’s residence. The rooms blend historic architecture with updated interiors, keeping the atmosphere intact while providing modern comforts. There are 19 rooms with private bath and toilet facilities, while 2 rooms come with shared facilities.
- Tachibana Building: This five-story structure features spacious rooms with Kyoto-style tatami floors. It includes 15 Japanese-style rooms of varying sizes and is conveniently located near public transport, making it ideal for travelers.
- Ukon Tachibana: A small guest house located in the middle of Kyoto’s busy streets, with a view of traditional machiya houses from the windows. It provides twin beds, a bath with dryer, a mini kitchen, and is equipped for a comfortable stay for two guests.
- Rantei: A fully private machiya-style house for those wanting an exclusive experience. It includes a kitchen, bath with traditional ceramics, and space for up to three guests.
Dining
At Nissho Besso, you can savor authentic Kyoto cuisine, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and traditional Kaiseki meals. Dinner is served in your room for privacy, allowing you to enjoy the complete culinary experience at your own pace. Onsen & Wellness
The ryokan features a large communal bath located underground, designed to help you unwind after a day of sightseeing. Both men’s and women’s baths are available, with amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. For a more exclusive experience, there is a private bath that can be reserved by phone, complete with a microbubble generator for a gentle, relaxing soak.
