Ryokan Motonago, located in the heart of Kyoto’s Gion district along the historic Nene-no-Michi path, offers an authentic and tranquil Japanese experience. Nestled at the base of Kodaiji Temple, it provides easy access to some of Kyoto’s most celebrated landmarks, including Kiyomizu Temple, Chion-in, and Maruyama Park. Accommodation
Motonago offers 11 rooms, each crafted to provide a tranquil and warm setting. The rooms are all traditional Japanese style, featuring tatami floors, futon bedding, and a natural ambiance that allows you to unwind after exploring Kyoto. Some rooms have shared bathrooms and others have private bathrooms. Please check before booking. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the ryokan, and all rooms are non-smoking in line with Kyoto city guidelines.
Dining
Enjoy a taste of Kyoto with seasonal kaiseki cuisine prepared by the ryokan’s head chef. Each month brings a new menu featuring fresh, local ingredients. Dinner includes a standard kaiseki meal, with options to upgrade based on your budget, while breakfast features Kyoto-style yudofu.
