Accommodation
Sanso Kannawaen features 50 rooms, spread across the main building, annex, and private villas. Each one brings you into a space where Japanese and Western design meet in harmony. Every room includes a 100% natural hot spring bath with free-flowing water from the ryokan’s own sources—never diluted or reheated.
Special Suite Tsutsuji
The pinnacle of comfort, this 143㎡ detached suite blends traditional Japanese elements with Western luxury. The room includes a cypress indoor bath, an open-air bath, and even a private steam bath. You can sink into deep sofas by the window, take in the garden view, and relax in complete privacy. The suite includes four double beds and futons upon request.

Other rooms range from 48㎡ to 166㎡. Whether you prefer a Japanese-style space or a Western bed, you’ll find a room that matches your needs. All include full private bathrooms, air conditioning, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Dining
Restaurant Yui – Kaiseki Cuisine
Immerse yourself in the heart of Japanese dining with a multi-course kaiseki dinner inspired by the five flavors, five colors, and five techniques. Every dish uses fresh seafood from Saganoseki and seasonal ingredients prepared with subtlety and precision.

Restaurant Kaede – Teppanyaki

Onsen and Wellness
Sanso Kannawaen draws its water from two private sources within the grounds. Every room has its own hot spring bath with 100% natural, undiluted water.
Public Bath: Houno-yu
This bath features the ryokan’s signature blue spring, along with Kannawa’s traditional steam bath. You can soak under the stars, surrounded by fresh air and birdsong in the early morning.
Open-air baths: 1 for men, 1 for women
Indoor baths: 1 for men, 1 for women
Operating hours: 15:00–23:00 and 6:30–10:00

Please note: You cannot use the baths if you have tattoos or are intoxicated. Photography is not allowed in the bath or dressing rooms.
Guests with Tattoos
You are not allowed to use the public bath if you have tattoos. If this applies to you, consider choosing a room with a private bath for a comfortable stay.
Facilities
BAR VERDE – Sit in the lounge with a glass of whisky or wine and watch the Noh stage glow in the evening light. Open 20:00–23:00.
KISEN Boutique – Browse local sweets, crafts, teas, and original goods selected by the owner. Located in the main building and the annex.
