Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto is a modern ryokan in the heart of Kyoto, recently opened on June 20, 2022. This unique inn has an open-air bath on the top floor and a Sky Garden Terrace with panoramic views of the Kamo River and Higashiyama Mountains. Some rooms have their own private open air baths as well.

Accommodation

Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto comes with 102 rooms designed to provide a comfortable retreat after a day exploring Kyoto. The rooms are available in three types: Moderate Double, Superior Double, and Universal Twin. Each room features a soothing interior inspired by the Kamo River’s gentle flow and Kyoto’s natural beauty. Some rooms have open baths for added luxury.

Dining

Start your day with the “Koto no Tamatebako” Kaiseki bento, a beautifully crafted breakfast box featuring Kyoto’s seasonal delicacies. The bento is served on the 9th floor, where you will enjoy your meal while taking in the stunning views of the Kamo River. For other dining options, the ryokan provides recommendations for nearby Kyoto restaurants, ensuring guests can experience the city’s rich culinary culture.

Onsen & Wellness

The highlight of Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto is the open-air bath on the top floor, offering an extraordinary bathing experience with a view of Kyoto’s skyline. The bath uses natural hot spring water from the ryokan’s own source. It includes a deep bath where you can stand and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the warm waters. The baths are complemented by “Silky Jacuzzi Baths,” which create microbubbles that leaves the skin smooth and hydrated.

Guests with Tattoos

Please note that guests with tattoos are not permitted to use the onsen facilities at Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto. If you have tattoos, you will need to enjoy the private onsen in your own room.
