The ryokan was built in 1903 for the Governor of Nara Prefecture to host important guests. Now visitors can enjoy kaiseki food and warm hospitality in a peaceful forest setting.

Accommodation

The Okuyama Nara Kasuga Tsukihitei offers only three guestrooms, guaranteeing personalized service and privacy. Each room is designed to provide a unique and peaceful experience.

Sakura: Opened in April 2023, this is the largest guestroom at Tsukihitei. The Japanese-Western room accommodates 2-4 people and spans 90 square meters. It boasts large windows with views of Kasuga Okuyama forest and a spacious bathtub made of Japanese umbrella pine.

Yanagi: Located in a serene annex, this Japanese-style room is for 2 people and covers 8 tatami mats. Guests can enjoy the soothing sounds of birds and a nearby flowing river.

Hagi: The furthest room from the main building, Hagi offers a peaceful retreat. This Japanese-style room accommodates 2-4 people over 10 tatami mats. The room features a special private bath made of Japanese cypress, designed with natural wood and motifs of Nara Park’s deer.

Dining
