Dining
The food at Yado Nakaya showcases the natural bounty of the Boso Peninsula. You’ll enjoy seafood caught just offshore, including abalone, spiny lobster, sea bream, turban shells, and golden-eye snapper.
Dinner features kaiseki-style meals carefully prepared by a head chef who has received Japan’s Minister of Agriculture award. Using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, the menu balances taste and presentation. You can choose from three dinner plans: the “Shirosaki Kaiseki,” “Nakaya Special Kaiseki,” and “Hamachidori Kaiseki.” Each includes elegant dishes like grilled lobster with sea urchin, sashimi platters, and abalone cooked tableside.
You’ll dine in one of four dining rooms—each with a different ambiance:
- Nagisa: A quiet space for Japanese-style meals
- Hamabe no Monogatari: A spacious dining hall with sea views
- Rin: A modern dining room with a relaxed feel
- Heian no Ma: A traditional hall with a peaceful atmosphere
These spaces offer both semi-private and open seating, giving you room to relax while enjoying your meal.
Onsen and Wellness
The hot spring at Yado Nakaya flows directly from its own natural source on the property. You can soak in the outdoor bath while watching the sun set over the sea or listen to the sound of waves as you unwind beneath the stars. The water is soft and silky, known for its skin-smoothing effects and warm, lingering heat.
You have multiple ways to enjoy the spring:
- In-room open-air baths: Many rooms feature private tubs with water piped directly from the source. You can bathe whenever you like, day or night.
- Large public baths: These overlook the ocean and let you feel as if you’re floating between sea and sky. The baths use 100% source water and have earned a reputation as “beauty baths” for their moisturizing effects.
- Private outdoor bath “Hamachidori”: Reserve this space for a private soak. Each session lasts 45 minutes and can be booked at the front desk on the day of your stay.
The water’s natural properties are ideal for relieving stress, easing joint pain, supporting recovery, and promoting healthy skin. Certified by the Japan Onsen Association, this sodium chloride spring has a pH of 8.8 and is considered especially gentle on the body.
Guests with Tattoos
