Overview
At Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel, you can wake up to one of Japan’s most iconic views—Sakurajima, a still-active volcano rising above Kinko Bay. Whether you’re here for sightseeing or business, this hotel places you in the heart of Kagoshima with easy access to local attractions.
The hotel offers a calm base where you can enjoy panoramic scenery, refreshing hot springs, and local cuisine. From sunrise to sunset, Sakurajima shifts in color and character, providing a mesmerizing backdrop throughout your stay.
Accommodation
Your room at Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel opens directly onto the views of Sakurajima—except for single rooms, which face the city. Choose from twelve different room types, including traditional Japanese-style tatami rooms, spacious suites, and twin or double Western-style rooms.
All rooms come with modern features such as Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, tea set, shower toilet, air conditioning, and a hair dryer. You’ll also find bath items, yukata robes, slippers, and other daily comforts ready for you.
Since April 2021, all rooms are non-smoking. If you smoke, you can use designated smoking areas on the 1st and 8th floors.

Sky Bar Subaru
After dinner, head to Subaru for drinks and night views. The bar offers cocktails, sake, and Kagoshima’s local shochu.
Onsen and Wellness
The hotel’s top-floor panoramic spa gives you a front-row seat to Sakurajima. Start your day with a soak as the sun rises behind the volcano or unwind in the evening after exploring the city.
The spa includes natural hot spring baths and sauna options for both men and women. Facilities include:
- Far infrared sauna (men)
- Body shower (men)
- Steam sauna (women)
The hot spring uses chloride-rich water, which is said to help with neuralgia, joint pain, fatigue, and skin conditions.
Spa hours are from early morning until midnight, and bathing in the morning is highly recommended for the best views.
Guests with Tattoos
The hotel does not state specific policies regarding tattoos in the spa. If you have concerns, ask the staff in advance about private bathing options.
