Overview
Kanazawa Hakuchoro Hotel Sanraku places you close to the old beauty of Kanazawa, with Kanazawa Castle Park, Kenrokuen Garden, Omicho Market, Higashi Chaya District, and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art all within easy reach. You stay beside the historic Hakuchoro path, a name tied to the swans once kept near the castle moat, and the hotel carries that sense of local story into its design.
The atmosphere draws on Taisho Roman style, with stained glass, warm lighting, classic interiors, and Kanazawa craft details throughout the building. This is not a ryokan in the strict sense, but you still enjoy many of the things that make a Japanese stay memorable: natural hot spring bathing, seasonal Kaga cuisine, thoughtful service, and a setting that lets you walk straight into Kanazawa’s cultural heart.
Accommodation
Your room is designed with Taisho Roman character, using stained glass, Kutani-ware lamps, rich colors, and nostalgic details that feel well matched to Kanazawa. Rooms include Western-style options and Japanese-style rooms, so you can choose between classic beds and a more traditional tatami layout. Room types include Executive Luxury, Executive Twin, Deluxe Twin, King, Basic Twin, and Japanese Traditional rooms.
The Executive Luxury rooms offer 40 square meters with separate living and bedroom areas, stained glass, and an elegant top-floor feel. Executive Twin rooms are 30 square meters and carry the same classic atmosphere on the upper floors. Deluxe Twin rooms give you 40 square meters on the middle floors, while King and Basic Twin rooms offer 30 square meters with warm Taisho Roman design. Japanese Traditional rooms are also 30 square meters and give you a tatami-style stay with a more local feeling.
Room touches bring Kanazawa into your private space. You can enjoy Kutani-ware cups, Kaga roasted green tea, mineral water, a coffee machine, free Wi-Fi, and daily newspaper service. Many rooms include Mikimoto bath amenities, bath salts, bathrobe, loungewear, humidifier, refrigerator, safe, kettle, hair dryer, and a modular bathroom. Executive rooms add special details such as Imabari towels, Airweave bedding, Bluetooth speaker, Blu-ray player, and complimentary minibar drinks.
Dining
Dining at Kanazawa Hakuchoro Hotel Sanraku brings you close to the flavors of Ishikawa. At Mahoroba, you can enjoy local cuisine and Kaga Kaiseki prepared with seasonal ingredients, presented on Kutani porcelain and lacquerware. The menu highlights Kanazawa traditions such as Jibuni, a duck and seasonal Kaga vegetable dish, along with Noto beef and carefully selected sashimi from the morning market.
Breakfast is served at Buffet Dining Swan and focuses on local ingredients and Kanazawa specialties. You can begin the day with dishes such as nodoguro, Kaga vegetables, Kanazawa oden, homemade tofu in a bamboo cup, wheel-shaped wheat gluten with egg, and saba heshiko, a preserved mackerel dish. The breakfast has received recognition in Ishikawa through Rakuten Travel’s breakfast festival, with past award-winning dishes including dried rosy seabass, homemade tofu, and lotus root with stewed chicken wings.
For a quieter pause, you can spend time at Lobby Lounge Partie. The red-carpeted lounge, stained glass, coffee aroma, and classical music create a nostalgic mood during the day, while the bar opens in the evening for drinks in the same classic setting.
Onsen and Wellness
The hotel’s natural hot spring is one of its strongest features. You can soak in the “Hot Spring of the Beauty,” a coffee-colored sodium bicarbonate saline spring with a mineral-rich feel. The water has a softening, skin-friendly quality and helps your body stay warm after bathing, making it especially welcome after walking around Kanazawa.
Because the source temperature is low, the bath water is heated and managed with circulation and filtration so you can bathe comfortably. You may notice natural mineral particles in the water, which come from the spring itself. Bathing hours are from 5:00 AM to 10:30 AM and from 3:00 PM to midnight.
The bath area also includes a sauna and cold water bath, so you can warm up, cool down, and reset after a full day in the city. Complimentary mineral water is available in the changing room, and towels are provided there, so you do not need to bring towels from your room.
For deeper relaxation, you can book spa treatments. The spa can arrange treatments for two people side by side, and reservations are recommended so you can choose the treatment style that suits your plans.
