Overview

THE YUKAWA Ichijoh Branch gives you a quiet suite stay in Kamasaki Onsen, Shiroishi, surrounded by forest, river sounds, and the long hospitality tradition of Yunushi Ichijoh. It opened in September 2025 as a new resort hotel with only 11 rooms, making it a strong choice if you want privacy, space, and a more refined hot spring stay.

You stay beside the Yukawa River, with nature directly in front of your room. The atmosphere is calm and private, but you still have easy access to Shiroishi’s local culture, including Shiroishi Castle, Yajiro Kokeshi Village, and Zao Fox Village.

Accommodation

Every room is a suite with a private terrace and a source-flowing open-air bath. The rooms have high ceilings, large windows, river views, and generous layouts, so you can spend most of your stay comfortably inside your own space.

You can choose from four room types: YUKAWA Suite, Panorama Suite, Villa Suite, and River View Suite. The YUKAWA Suite is the largest room at 90㎡ and sleeps up to 3 people. The Panorama Suite is 85㎡ and has the widest terrace. The Villa Suite is 80㎡ and offers a more independent stay. The River View Suite is 72㎡ and looks toward the river and forest from a wide terrace.

Rooms include Simmons queen-size beds in a Hollywood twin setup, a shower booth, free Wi-Fi, refrigerator, safe, air purifier with humidifier, coffee maker, Bluetooth speaker, yukata, pajamas, bathrobe, towels, and bath products.

Dining

Meals are served in private dining rooms with open terraces, so you can enjoy dinner and breakfast with views of the surrounding trees and river. Dinner follows a kaiseki style and highlights Miyagi ingredients along with selected seasonal produce from across Japan.

Dinner may include dishes such as Sanriku sea urchin, seasonal sashimi, matsutake, local fish, Shiroishi umen noodles, and Zao beef. The meal is designed to feel polished and seasonal, without making the experience feel stiff.

For breakfast, you can choose Japanese or Western style at check-in. Breakfast may include local vegetables, additive-free Miyagi ham and sausage, local juices, honey, and special eggs from Kakuda.

Onsen and Wellness

The hot spring experience is centered on privacy. Every room has its own source-flowing open-air bath on the terrace, so you can soak whenever you like during your stay. The water comes from the property’s own Yukawa source and is a sodium chloride-sulfate spring with a source temperature of 74°C.

There is no large public bath. Instead, you use your in-room open-air bath or one of the two private open-air baths. The private baths also use source-flowing water and can be requested at the front desk when available.

For extra relaxation, you can book esthetic treatments, oil massage, facial care, or in-room body massage. The hotel does not have a sauna.

Guests with Tattoos

Tattoos are not a concern for your in-room bath because every suite has a private open-air hot spring. You can enjoy the onsen in your own space without using a shared bathing area.

For the two private open-air baths outside the room, check with the hotel during your stay if you want confirmation before use.

Activities

You can spend your time slowly at the hotel, moving between your suite, terrace, bath, dining room, lounge, and bar. This property works best when you want to make the stay itself the main experience.

For sightseeing, you can visit Shiroishi Castle, Yajiro Kokeshi Village, Zao Fox Village, Obara Gorge, or local shrines. If you want a light activity, rent an electric-assist bicycle and explore the area at an easy pace.
