Overview
Imagine stepping away from the noise of everyday life and immersing yourself in the timeless rhythm of the coast. This is a place where the ocean meets you—the shoreline literally embraces the onsen, and waves sometimes lapping at the edge of your bath. Known as Furōfushi Onsen, its name means “unaging,” reflecting the belief that these reddish-brown, iron-rich waters can help you maintain strength and vitality.
Here, you won’t just bathe—you’ll experience three distinct hot spring environments:
The seaside open-air bath, perched at water’s edge, connects you directly to the sea. When tides are high, waves can wash in—and that’s part of the allure. You’ll soak in nature’s symphony of surf, wind, and sky.
“Furōfushi-no-Yu”, the panoramic grand bath in the newer wing, offers an elevated, spa-like moment. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a connected sauna and cold plunge create a complete rejuvenation sequence with sweeping ocean vistas.
“Golden-no-Yu”, in the original wing, offers a more intimate and classic indoor experience, balancing hot and warm tubs with convenient access to rinse off before stepping outside.
All baths share natural, continuous spring flow—drawn from 200 meters beneath the surface. The water starts clear and oxidizes to a distinctive copper tone as soon as it meets air, rich in sodium, calcium, and magnesium. These minerals bring warmth deep into the body, enhance natural healing, and soften your skin—earning it nicknames like the “hot-spring for heat,” “wound-healing spring,” and “skin-beautifying spring.”
Whether you choose to soak in wave-kissed water at sunrise or indulge in the panoramic view after dusk, you’ll feel the calming power of the coast in every sense
