Jozankei Onsen, located just an hour’s drive from Sapporo in Hokkaido, is a popular hot spring resort in the valley of the Toyohira River.
Jozankei offers a variety of bathhouses and ryokans, many with outdoor baths (rotenburo) that allow you to soak while surrounded by stunning natural scenery. The area is especially beautiful in autumn, when the surrounding forests burst into vibrant colours, making it a prime destination for leaf-peeping.
