Noboribetsu Onsen

Noboribetsu Onsen is famous in Japan because it has many different types of hot water with lots of minerals. The onsen is ideally located within the dramatic landscape of Jigokudani, or “Hell Valley,” where volcanic activity creates a striking backdrop of steaming vents, sulfurous streams, and bubbling mud pools.

Beyond the onsen, Noboribetsu offers hiking trails through Hell Valley, where you can observe the geothermal activity up close, and cultural attractions like the Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura, a historical theme park.
