Overview
Akazawa Geihinkan is a refined hideaway within Pleasure Resort Izu Akazawa Onsen, set on a high point overlooking Sagami Bay. You stay in a quiet world of Japanese architecture, garden views, deep-sea bathing, and carefully paced hospitality. With only 15 rooms, the ryokan gives you space to slow down and enjoy a stay that feels private from the moment you arrive.
The setting combines the beauty of Izu’s coast with the stillness of a traditional Japanese retreat. You can spend your time soaking in your own open-air bath, tasting seasonal Japanese cuisine, walking through the resort area, or simply sitting with the view and letting the day unfold without hurry.
Accommodation
You stay in one of 15 rooms, each with its own open-air bath. The rooms celebrate Japanese craftsmanship through details such as coffered ceilings, Juraku-style walls, ajiro-woven ceilings, tatami spaces, and views toward the garden or surrounding nature.
You can choose a first-floor Japanese-style room with a garden-facing open-air bath, a second-floor Japanese-style room with a more elevated sense of openness, or the detached special room for the most private stay. The first- and second-floor rooms measure 68㎡ and accommodate up to three people, while the detached special room offers 150㎡, space for up to four people, an open-air bath, and a private sauna.
Your room gives you a calm base for the whole stay. You can bathe when you like, sit quietly after dinner, enjoy the textures of Japanese design, and feel the seasons through the garden just outside your bath.
Dining
Dining at Akazawa Geihinkan focuses on Japanese cuisine prepared with care, seasonal rhythm, and a strong connection to the sea. Each dish highlights clean flavors, careful technique, and the richness of Izu’s coastal setting.
You can look forward to dishes shaped by golden dashi, seafood, and seasonal ingredients. The dining experience may include touches such as sashimi, crab dishes, and sakura shrimp clay-pot rice, depending on the season and your plan. Each course encourages you to slow down and enjoy the meal as part of the ryokan experience rather than a simple dinner.
Onsen and Wellness
Bathing is one of the highlights of your stay. Akazawa Geihinkan uses deep-sea water drawn from about 800 meters below the surface off the Akazawa coast. You can soak in this mineral-rich water in your own open-air bath and let the warmth ease your body while you look toward the garden or surrounding landscape.
The detached special room adds a private sauna, giving you an even deeper wellness experience without leaving your own space. You can move between bathing, cooling down, resting, and bathing again, all at your own pace.
Your stay also includes access to nearby resort facilities, including Akazawa Day Spa, Akazawa Deep Sea Water Spa for ages 13 and over, DEEP SEA LOUNGE, and one free game at Akazawa Bowl. You can use these benefits before check-in and after check-out, giving you more time to enjoy the wider resort.
Guests with Tattoos
If you have tattoos, your private open-air bath gives you an easy way to enjoy bathing in comfort. You can soak in your own room without worrying about shared-bath etiquette.
