Overview

At Shukanen Yuno Hanazen, the charm of Atami meets the warmth of thoughtful hospitality. From the moment you arrive, the sea stretches out before you. Every room offers a front-row seat to the view—ocean waves during the day, city lights at night, and fireworks shows throughout the year. This ryokan focuses on simplicity, elegance, and relaxation. Let the calm of the coast, the flavor of local seafood, and the comfort of hot spring baths welcome you.

Accommodation

You can choose from several room types, each offering different styles of comfort and all with ocean views. The open-air bath suites include the prestigious Kihinshitsu, which features a private outdoor bath where you can soak while watching the sea sparkle or fireworks burst overhead. These rooms were recently renovated to enhance your experience.

Other open-air bath rooms let you enjoy a private soak followed by drinks and dinner in your room. The experience feels indulgent, with peaceful scenery and soft lighting throughout.

If you prefer something simpler, the classic Japanese-style rooms provide a relaxing atmosphere with wide windows facing the bay. Whether you travel alone, as a couple, or with family or friends, you’ll find a space that suits you. Some rooms include two adjoining tatami areas, ideal for groups.

Each room includes fresh flowers, chosen and arranged with care. You’ll also find standard amenities like yukata, Wi-Fi, bath items, and drinkware. If you need extra items such as humidifiers, irons, or DVD players, you can request them at the front desk.

Dining

The meals at Yuno Hanazen feature the best of Izu and Atami’s seasonal seafood. Start with “Hanaguruma no Zen,” which highlights local fish prepared to bring out their natural flavor. You can taste the changing seasons in every dish. The kitchen selects ingredients with great care and balances color, aroma, and taste in each course.

If you’re looking for something more special, try the upgraded “Hanafubuki no Zen,” where presentation and richness take center stage. Or choose the exclusive “Hanazakari no Zen” served only in the Kihinshitsu. For this course, a chef comes to your room in the morning and prepares your breakfast right in front of you.

Your meals may vary depending on the season. If you have food allergies or ingredient preferences, notify the staff in advance so they can make adjustments.

Children also receive carefully prepared meals. School-age children get a mini kaiseki-style meal, while younger children can enjoy a kid-friendly lunch plate. The kitchen takes dietary concerns seriously, though please note that the facility isn’t completely allergen-free.

Onsen and Wellness

The ryokan has two main bath areas: Tsuki no Yudokoro and Hana no Yudokoro. Both include large baths and open-air tubs that overlook the sea. Each area changes between men’s and women’s use at midnight, so you can try both during your stay.

The spring water flows from a natural source in Atami and contains sodium and calcium chloride. This high-temperature, neutral spring is known for helping with fatigue, joint pain, and skin conditions. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and offers relief after a long day.

If you’re staying in a room with a private bath, you can enjoy the same mineral-rich water in the comfort of your suite. For a unique experience, try the micro-nano bubble shower installed in some bathing areas—it leaves your skin feeling refreshed and soft.

You can also visit the sister ryokan, Yuyado Mikan no Ki, using a complimentary shuttle. Just let the front desk know you want to go, and take a short ride to explore another bath area. The bus runs a few times each afternoon and evening, but please note it doesn’t operate during holidays or peak event times.

Guests with Tattoos

The ryokan does not specify restrictions for tattoos. If you’re unsure, check with the front desk before using the public baths. You can also book a room with a private bath to ensure full access.

Facilities

Yuno Hanazen includes everything you need for a relaxing stay. Your room comes with yukata, toiletries, a tea set, and Wi-Fi. The front desk offers rental items like hair irons, chargers, humidifiers, and more. You can also borrow a DVD player for quiet evenings in your room.

All toilets are equipped with washlets, and several room types include spacious layouts for easy movement. Some meals are served in private dining spaces, while others are delivered to your room.

Activities

Time your visit with Atami’s famous fireworks festivals, and watch the show directly from your room or the rooftop bath. Spend your day soaking in hot water, enjoying fresh seafood, and resting with the sounds of the ocean just beyond your window.

You can also explore Atami’s town center, enjoy the nearby beach, or take short trips to local attractions. During peak seasons, special plans are available for couples, families, or groups of friends, each including meals and room access designed for comfort and fun.
