Rooms with Private Open-Air Baths
These rooms, available in both Japanese and Western styles, overlook peaceful corridor gardens or the countryside of Awara. You can relax in the comfort of your own open-air bath fed by Mimatsu’s private hot spring source. Paired room options allow larger groups to stay together.
Room size: approx. 16.5–20m² (excluding bath), for 1–4 people
Other Room Options
If you’re looking for something simpler, choose from Japanese-style tatami rooms, universal rooms, or business-style accommodations.
Every room includes essentials like towels, skin care products, and toiletries. Women staying in rooms with open-air baths can also select their favorite yukata.
Dining
Let the flavors of Fukui delight you during your stay. The chefs at Mimatsu create dishes that highlight fresh, local ingredients—carefully chosen each season.
In winter, indulge in Echizen crab, Fukui’s top seafood delicacy. Try Wagyu-grade Wakasa beef, grilled or simmered to perfection. Every meal is crafted with precision, and breakfast brings a colorful spread perfect for photos and your palate alike.
Onsen and Wellness
Mimatsu offers two main hot spring areas, each filled with water from a private spring:
Taiyoden (“Sun Palace”)
A domed indoor bath with large windows that flood the space with sunlight. Soak in the stone-ringed outdoor bath just outside.
Meigetsuden (“Full Moon Palace”)
This crescent-shaped bath offers a quiet, indoor space perfect for unwinding in hot mineral water.
You can enjoy both bathing areas during designated times for men and women. If you stay in a room with a private bath, you can soak anytime between check-in and check-out.
Guests with Tattoos
You’re welcome to use the public baths if your tattoos are discreetly covered and don’t draw attention. If not, you can still relax in your own private bath.

While staying at Mimatsu, you can enjoy:
