Overview
Blue Ocean Izu gives you exclusive use of an ocean-view villa in Ajiro, on the southern side of Atami. Reserved for only one group each day, the property offers complete privacy for a couple, family holiday, reunion, or group escape.
Sea views follow you throughout the villa, from the living areas and bedrooms to the hot spring baths. In the morning, you can watch fishing boats cross the water. At night, you can soak beneath the stars and enjoy the quiet of the hillside setting.
With space for up to 15 people, Blue Ocean Izu combines the freedom of a private house with natural hot spring bathing, outdoor dining, and room to spend time together without sharing the property with anyone else.
Accommodation
The villa accommodates up to 15 people across three flexible sleeping areas. On the second floor, a Japanese-style room sleeps up to three people on futons. A larger Western-style room sleeps up to six people and can be divided with freestanding partitions. The living room can also be arranged as a sleeping area for up to six people.
Screens and partitions allow you to create more privacy within the larger spaces, making the layout suitable for several couples, families, or groups of friends. The villa also includes two toilets, a spacious living area, heating, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi.
Large windows bring the sea into almost every part of the property. Whether you are resting, sharing drinks, or preparing for the day, the ocean remains part of the experience.
Check-in begins at 14:00, and check-out is by 10:00. Arriving before dark is recommended because the villa sits in a naturally dark hillside area.
Dining
Blue Ocean Izu offers a self-catering stay, giving you the freedom to choose what and when you eat. A kitchen is available inside the villa, so you can prepare simple meals, snacks, and drinks throughout your visit.
For an outdoor meal, you can reserve the covered BBQ area for an additional fee. The roof allows you to enjoy the space in changing weather, while the nearby play area keeps children close by as you cook.
Bring your own food and drinks, and reserve the BBQ equipment before arrival. For fire-safety reasons, personal grills cannot be brought onto the property.
Shops, restaurants, and a convenience store are available in the wider Ajiro and Atami area, making it easy to collect supplies before settling in.
Onsen and wellness
Private hot spring bathing is one of the highlights of Blue Ocean Izu. The villa includes an indoor hot spring bath and a spacious open-air bathing area overlooking the sea.
The spring water comes from the Ajiro area and contains salt, giving it the distinctive character of the local onsen. Because the source is close to the property, the water can arrive at a high temperature. You can allow it to cool or add water until it reaches a comfortable level.
The open-air bath gives you uninterrupted time with the view. Early mornings bring fishing boats and changing light across the water, while clear evenings offer a chance to bathe beneath the stars. Swimwear is required when using the outdoor bath.
Guests with tattoos
Blue Ocean Izu is reserved entirely for your group, including the bathing facilities. Tattoos are accepted in the private indoor and open-air hot spring baths.
Facilities
The villa includes free Wi-Fi inside the building and garden, a kitchen, a large living space, a 65-inch television with HDMI connections, two toilets, indoor and open-air hot spring baths, and a covered BBQ area available by advance reservation.
Outside, children can enjoy the garden and play equipment while you relax nearby. The sea-facing balcony and outdoor areas add more space for morning coffee, quiet conversation, and time in the fresh air.
On-site parking is available for up to two cars. Space is limited, so arrangements for more than one vehicle should be made before arrival. The access road may also be difficult for very low vehicles.
The villa can be considered for photo sessions, filming, meetings, training stays, reunions, classes, celebrations, and other organised uses. These stays require advance approval and may carry separate charges.
Activities
Much of the appeal comes from enjoying the villa itself. You can begin the day with an ocean-view soak, prepare breakfast together, spend the afternoon around the garden, and finish with a BBQ beneath the covered terrace.
Blue Ocean Izu also gives you a convenient base for exploring Atami, Itō, and the eastern Izu coast. Nearby options include Nagahama Seaside Park, Ajiro Beach, and Usami Beach, along with local seafood restaurants and coastal drives.
The Hatsushima Fireworks Festival may be visible from the property when conditions allow. The Atami Seaside Fireworks Festival cannot be seen directly from the villa, so you will need to travel toward Atami Port for the main display.
The hillside location brings you close to nature. During warmer months, you may see cicadas, beetles, geckos, and other small creatures around the property. Bringing insect repellent will help you enjoy outdoor time more comfortably.
