Overview
Stay at Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka in a wooded highland setting near Mt. Fuji. Lake Yamanaka is around five minutes away by car, giving you easy access to lakeside walking, cycling, boat trips, and views of the mountain when the weather is clear.
The hotel has 105 rooms, including Western rooms, Japanese accommodation, Japanese-Western rooms, dog-friendly rooms, and rooms with private natural hot spring baths. The forest outside the windows creates a quieter atmosphere than the busier areas beside the lake.
After sightseeing, you can enjoy a seasonal dinner, soak in Yamanakako Onsen, exercise in the 24-hour fitness centre, or play tennis on the outdoor courts. Private hot spring rooms give you another option when you prefer to bathe without entering the shared facilities.
Accommodation
Most rooms measure 41.2 square metres, giving you considerably more space than a standard city hotel room. Western room categories use Simmons beds, and all accommodation is non-smoking.
The Superior Twin Room accommodates up to four people. It has two 120-centimetre-wide beds, with an extra bed and sofa bed added when required. The Superior King accommodates up to three people with one 180-centimetre-wide king bed and an additional bed for the third person.
Pure Wellness Rooms come in the same twin and king layouts. These rooms receive additional cleaning and air treatment designed to reduce particles and allergens inside the accommodation. They suit you when indoor air quality is an important part of your room choice.
The Japanese Room has a ten-tatami sleeping and sitting space for up to four people. Futons are prepared on the tatami, giving you more open floor space during the day.
The Japanese-Western Room combines either twin or king bedding with a Japanese area. Up to four people can stay together, using the beds and additional futon or sofa bedding according to the selected layout.
The Premium Room with Hot Spring measures 41.2 square metres and accommodates up to three people. You can choose twin or king bedding. A private indoor bath receives natural Yamanakako Onsen water, allowing you to soak at any time without entering the communal bath.
Two Executive Suites provide 67 square metres of space. Each suite accommodates two people and comes in either a twin or king layout. A private hot spring view bath connects the bedroom with the bathing area and gives you direct access to natural onsen water.
Four Dog-Friendly Japanese Rooms measure 41.2 square metres and accommodate up to four people with one small dog. The room uses dog-friendly tatami and provides futon bedding rather than Western beds.
Dog equipment includes a cage, toilet tray, pet sheets, waste bags, cleaning products, food bowls, a lead bag, deodorising equipment, drinking water, and a small treat. You still need to bring your dog’s usual food, towels, bedding, toys, and familiar daily items.
Your dog cannot enter the restaurant, hot spring facilities, fitness centre, lounge, or other shared indoor areas. When passing through the lobby, your dog needs to remain inside a full-body carrier or crate.
Standard room equipment includes free Wi-Fi, a television, refrigerator, safe, electric kettle, tea supplies, hair dryer, towels, sleepwear, slippers, and toiletries. Exact bathroom arrangements differ between room categories.
Dining
Grill & Dining G is the hotel’s main restaurant. Large windows look toward the surrounding trees, while the kitchen uses grilling and smoking techniques to prepare meat, fish, and vegetables from Yamanashi and the wider Mt. Fuji region.
Dinner changes with the season. Menus may follow a set-course, grill, or semi-buffet format, with several main dishes available according to your selected plan.
Regional ingredients may include Koshu Wine Beef, Shingen chicken, Kai salmon, Yamanashi venison, highland vegetables, local fruit, and sauces made with wine or produce from the prefecture.
During summer, the restaurant may combine cold appetisers and side dishes with a selected grilled main course. Current examples include Shingen chicken, seafood brochettes, Koshu Wine Beef, venison, and Japanese beef.
Breakfast is available as a buffet, set menu, or selected à la carte meal. The buffet includes freshly squeezed juice, smoothies, Japanese dishes, breads, egg dishes, fruit, salads, dairy products, and hot food.
At the egg station, you can request an omelette, fried egg, scrambled egg, or boiled egg. One local option adds seasoned minced chicken to the omelette.
Regional breakfast choices include Yoshida udon, Yamanashi honey and jam, rice, porridge, miso soup, grilled fish, simmered vegetables, and rolled egg. More than ten breads may be available, including croissants, Danish pastries, muffins, and firmer loaves.
The lounge serves drinks, alcohol, desserts, sandwiches, burgers, and light meals during the daytime and evening. Free Wi-Fi and power outlets also make it suitable for planning your day or completing a small amount of work.
In-room dining is available during selected breakfast and evening hours. Your dog cannot enter Grill & Dining G, so in-room dining offers a useful alternative when you do not want to leave your dog alone.
Onsen and Wellness
The public bathing facilities use natural Yamanakako Onsen water. The spring is classified as an alkaline simple spring with a soft bathing texture and is often described locally as suitable for skin care.
Traditional bathing indications include fatigue, muscle discomfort, neuralgia, and sensitivity to cold.
The bathing facilities occupy the first and second floors. Both sides have a large indoor bath, while the open-air bath and sauna alternate between men and women each day. This means access to the outdoor bath or sauna depends on the daily schedule.
The public baths open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and again from 1:30 p.m. until midnight. The sauna normally operates from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Special cleaning takes place on selected dates, when afternoon bathing begins later than usual. Entry may also be controlled by hourly time periods when the baths become particularly busy.
There is no reservable private onsen. For guaranteed private access to natural hot spring water, choose a Premium Room with Hot Spring or one of the two Executive Suites.
Bathrooms in the Superior, Pure Wellness, Japanese, Japanese-Western, and Dog-Friendly categories use regular heated water rather than natural onsen water.
The wellness facilities centre on bathing and exercise. The hotel does not currently list a dedicated treatment spa with massage or beauty-treatment rooms.
Guests with Tattoos
You cannot use the communal indoor bath, open-air bath, or sauna with visible tattoos.
You may enter when every tattoo fits completely beneath no more than two approved cover stickers. Each sticker measures 8 by 10 centimetres and must remain in place throughout your visit to the bathing area.
When your tattoos are too large for this rule, choose a Premium Room with Hot Spring or an Executive Suite. These rooms allow you to enjoy natural Yamanakako Onsen water privately.
Facilities
The fitness centre opens 24 hours a day and is available without an additional access charge during your stay. Equipment includes treadmills, exercise bicycles, cardio machines, strength equipment, and free weights. You need your room key to enter.
Eight outdoor Omni tennis courts are available by reservation. Evening lighting allows play after sunset on selected days. Operating hours change according to the day, and snow or poor weather may close the courts during winter.
Two table-tennis tables provide an easy indoor activity. You reserve the equipment for a timed session through the hotel.
A coin laundry on the second floor includes washing machines with automatic detergent supply and separate dryers. A paid laundry service is also available for items that require hotel handling.
Meeting and event rooms support company gatherings, private functions, and organised groups. The main restaurant, entrance, accommodation floors, and meeting areas have accessible routes.
Two Superior King Rooms have toilets fitted with support rails. The public hot spring area contains stairs and level changes, so it may not suit every mobility requirement.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the rooms and main shared areas. Complimentary on-site parking is provided, and elevators connect the accommodation floors.
All rooms are non-smoking. A designated smoking room is available near the front area of the hotel.

From Tokyo, highway buses travel to Asahigaoka from Shinjuku and other major departure points. You can then continue to the hotel on the reserved shuttle.
