Overview
Hanare Yado Yoshizumi is a quiet six-room ryokan in Izu Kogen, set below Mt. Omuro with views toward the Izu sea and Sagami Bay from selected rooms and baths. Every room is a detached building, so you have a private space with its own open-air natural hot spring bath.
This is an adult-oriented hideaway rather than a family resort. Children of elementary school age and under cannot stay, which helps keep the atmosphere calm. You can spend the stay in your own room, enjoy kaiseki meals served privately, soak in your open-air bath whenever you like, and choose from six room styles with different layouts, bath materials, and design details.
Accommodation
Yoshizumi has six detached rooms: Arashiyama, Kitayama, Maruyama, Higashiyama, Momoyama, and Nishiyama. Each room has a private open-air bath using natural hot spring water, plus an indoor bath. The indoor baths differ by room and may use Shigaraki ware or granite, giving each room its own feel.
Arashiyama is the special room, with a 12-tatami main room, a 7-tatami dining area, a private open-air hot spring bath, and a Shigaraki ware indoor bath. It works well when you want the most spacious and refined stay.
Kitayama has a 10-tatami main room, a 4-tatami flooring area, a spacious private open-air hot spring bath, and a granite indoor bath. Maruyama has the same main-room and adjacent-room size, with a private open-air bath looking toward Sagami Bay and a Shigaraki ware indoor bath.
Higashiyama has an 8-tatami main room, a 6-tatami adjacent room, a high-ceiling sukiya-style feel, a private open-air hot spring bath, and a granite indoor bath. Momoyama has an 8-tatami main room and a 6-tatami adjacent room, with a roomy layout and a granite indoor bath. Nishiyama has a 14-tatami room, a private open-air bath with a lying-down bathing space, and a Shigaraki ware indoor bath.
Rooms include useful basics such as free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, humidifying air purifier, washlet toilet, indoor bath, open-air bath, LCD TV, refrigerator, teapot, towels, toothbrush set, hairbrush, cotton swabs, tabi socks, shampoo, treatment, body soap, body towel, hair dryer, and women’s skincare set. Yukata, samue, bathrobes, and hair pins are available on request.
Dining
Dining at Yoshizumi focuses on seasonal Japanese kaiseki made with Izu seafood, mountain ingredients, and local produce. The chef prepares each course to bring out the freshness and natural flavor of the ingredients, with careful presentation and tableware that match the meal.
Dinner is served in your room. This fits the small detached-room style of the ryokan, letting you enjoy each course without moving to a shared dining room. The menu changes with the season and may include fresh seafood from the seas around Ito, seasonal vegetables, grilled dishes, simmered dishes, and Izu flavors prepared with a refined touch.
Extra dishes can be ordered in advance, including Ise lobster sashimi, Ise lobster Thermidor, abalone sashimi, live-grilled abalone, simmered kinmedai, and Shizuoka-bred Wagyu steak.
Breakfast is also served in your room. The morning meal focuses on seafood and gentle Japanese flavors. You can choose from dried fish options such as horse mackerel, barracuda, Pacific rudderfish, or filefish. Rice is served, and porridge is also available for a softer start to the day.
Onsen and Wellness
Every room at Yoshizumi has a private open-air bath using natural Izu Kogen Onsen water. The bath lets you enjoy the hot spring at your own pace, whether you prefer a morning soak, a quiet afternoon bath, or night bathing under the open sky.
The open-air baths are spacious enough for two people and differ by room. Some look toward the sea, some have a stronger garden or retreat feeling, and Nishiyama includes a lying-down bathing space. The hot spring water is managed with added water, heating, and circulation filtration.
There is no need to plan around a shared public bath schedule. The main onsen experience stays inside your own detached room, which gives you privacy and makes the stay feel more personal.
For deeper rest, Yoshizumi offers spa treatments by advance reservation. Body, facial, foot, and full-body treatments are available. Acupuncture and shiatsu can also be arranged, with treatment matched to concerns such as shoulder stiffness, lower back tension, and fatigue.
Guests with Tattoos
Hanare Yado Yoshizumi has private open-air natural hot spring baths in every detached room. You can enjoy the onsen privately with tattoos.
Facilities
Yoshizumi has six detached rooms, private in-room open-air hot spring baths, indoor baths, room dining, a small reception area, selectable loungewear, spa treatment service, acupuncture and shiatsu arrangement, free Wi-Fi, and parking.
The stay is designed around privacy rather than shared facilities. You spend most of your time in your own room, bath, and dining space. This makes the ryokan especially comfortable when you want a quiet trip with little movement through public areas.
Selectable loungewear adds a small personal touch. You can choose yukata, samue, or bathrobe, depending on how you want to relax in your room. Phone reception runs during set afternoon-to-evening hours, and the ryokan has irregular closing days.
Activities
Yoshizumi works well when you want to enjoy Izu Kogen at a slower pace. The room itself can be the main activity: soak in the open-air bath, enjoy your meal privately, rest after a spa treatment, and take in the sea or greenery from your own detached space.
Nearby, you can visit Mt. Omuro, Izu Shaboten Zoo, Sakura-no-Sato, Jogasaki Coast, Izu Granpal Park, and the museums and cafés around Izu Kogen. The area suits couples, quiet sightseeing, coastal drives, cherry blossoms in spring, green-season walks, and cooler autumn or winter stays built around the bath.
