Accommodation
Hotel Harumoto offers 22 rooms, including 20 Japanese-style rooms with tatami floors and 2 Western-style rooms. Each room provides a peaceful space where you can rest after a day of sightseeing or hot spring bathing.
Inside your room, you’ll find all the essentials for a comfortable stay: a washbasin, private toilet, television, telephone, refrigerator, in-room safe, dressing table, Japanese tea set, and yukata. Most rooms include a bath, and all come with towels, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and select bath amenities.
Whether you prefer the traditional atmosphere of tatami or the comfort of a Western bed, Hotel Harumoto gives you a restful base in one of Japan’s most beloved historic towns.
Dining
Hotel Harumoto serves seasonal meals with care and attention to detail. Every dish honors the region’s ingredients and traditions, offering both nourishment and comfort.
One of the signature offerings is the Yuba-Gozen, a set meal centered around yuba—thin layers of soy milk skin, known for their subtle flavor and high nutritional value. Yuba has its roots in vegetarian Buddhist cuisine, and it continues to represent Nikko’s cultural and culinary heritage.
You can also enjoy the Special Meal “Haikara”, a stylish set that blends traditional elements with creative touches. Seasonal dishes change throughout the year, highlighting fresh vegetables, local specialties, and elegant presentations.
Meals are served in a relaxed setting, allowing you to slow down and enjoy the flavors of each season.
Onsen and Wellness
The ryokan’s bathing facilities include separate large baths for men and women. The men’s bath, “Nikko-Danshaku”, and the women’s bath, “Nikko-Kifujin”, are both spacious and equipped with natural hot spring water.
The simple alkaline spring is clear and odorless, gentle on your skin, and known to help relieve neuralgia, muscle pain, and shoulder stiffness. The baths are open from early morning to late at night, giving you plenty of time to unwind at your own pace.
In addition to the large communal baths, you can use a private bath with your family for a more personal experience. All bathing areas are equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and grooming essentials for both men and women.
Guests with Tattoos
If you have tattoos, you can enjoy the private bath with your family. For the communal baths, it’s best to contact the hotel in advance to confirm use. The private bath offers a comfortable option for anyone seeking privacy.
