Overview
You stay at Sanshisuimei, a private hot-spring room area within Hotel Laforet Shuzenji in Izu, Shizuoka. The resort spreads across a large natural setting in Shuzenji, with forest views, mountain air, hot springs, restaurants, and sports facilities all within the wider Laforet Resort Shuzenji grounds.
Sanshisuimei gives you a quieter, more personal way to enjoy Shuzenji Onsen. Every room has its own open-air hot spring bath, so you can soak without planning around a shared bath schedule. You step out to your terrace, listen to the trees and birds, and enjoy the soft water of one of Izu’s best-known hot spring areas.
Accommodation
You stay in a Japanese-Western style room where you remove your shoes at the entrance and settle into a space that blends tatami-style ease with Western beds. All Sanshisuimei rooms include a private open-air hot spring bath, giving you the freedom to bathe in your own space whenever you want.
Rooms in the original Sanshisuimei building and Nigokan face the Mount Fuji side. Some include open terraces where you can look toward Mount Fuji from the room or bath area on clear days. Nigokan also includes accessible rooms with wider water areas, sliding toilet doors, and reduced steps, making the stay easier if you prefer a more accessible layout.
Sangokan, which opened in 2024, faces the Amagi mountain side instead. These rooms focus on forest views, birdsong, and the feeling of a terrace surrounded by trees. You can choose an all-bed layout or a Japanese-Western layout with two beds and futon-style bedding for additional sleepers.
Dog-friendly rooms are available in Nigokan. These rooms use flooring that helps dogs walk more easily, and they include thoughtful dog items such as paw towels, pet sheets, paw cream, a walking tote bag, a cage, and a foot-washing shower near the entrance. You can also choose a room-dining plan, so you can eat dinner without leaving your dog alone. Dogs cannot enter the hotel lobby or restaurants, and dog-room stays come with specific rules.
Room facilities include heating and cooling, bath, washlet toilet, TV, refrigerator, bath towels, face towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, yukata, and hair dryer. Toothbrushes, razors, hairbrushes, and shower caps are sold separately.
Dining
You can dine at Dining FUJI, a spacious restaurant with high ceilings, glass walls, and views toward Mount Fuji. The restaurant serves meals using ingredients from Izu, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours available. Breakfast is usually buffet-style, and dinner may be served as a course meal or buffet depending on the plan and season.
If you want to eat in your room, Sangokan offers a room-dining plan with a special Japanese-Western box meal made with local and seasonal ingredients. Dinner is delivered to your room, while breakfast is served at the hotel restaurant. This works well when you want a more private evening with your open-air bath and terrace close by.
You can also enjoy seasonal BBQ at BBQ Garden when available. Within the wider resort, Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji also has Grill & Dining G and lounge facilities, giving you more dining choices depending on your plan and reservation.
If you have food allergies or ingredients you cannot eat, contact the hotel at least 3 days in advance with clear details. The kitchen may be able to adjust, but complete allergen removal is not guaranteed because meals are prepared in the same kitchen with shared equipment and tableware.
Onsen and Wellness
Your private open-air bath is the heart of the stay. Each Sanshisuimei room has a bath with Shuzenji hot spring water, so you can soak at your own pace while looking toward Mount Fuji, the forest, or the Amagi mountain side, depending on your room location. The bath temperature can be adjusted with the nearby water tap.
You can also use the large public bath “Mori no Yu” within Laforet Resort Shuzenji. It includes a large indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna, with views toward the Amagi mountain range. The water is a clear alkaline simple spring, connected with fatigue recovery, neuralgia, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, and joint stiffness. Mori no Yu is not free-flowing from the source.
There is no private rental bath or family bath at the shared bathing facility. Your in-room open-air bath is the private bathing option at Sanshisuimei.
Guests with tattoos
If you have tattoos or irezumi, you cannot use the public large bath unless your tattoos can be fully covered with two 8 cm × 10 cm cover stickers. Ask the front desk for details before using the shared bath. Your private in-room open-air bath gives you the easiest and most comfortable way to enjoy the hot spring with privacy.
