Overview

Hotel Sanrakusō welcomes you right by the edge of Shirarahama Beach, where white sand meets emerald sea and blue sky. Feel the sound of waves and the hotel’s warm hospitality blend together as you gaze at the ocean. Enjoy a relaxing and joyful stay where scenery and service become one.

Accommodation

Every room at Sanrakusō offers an uninterrupted ocean view. You can sense the sea’s ever-changing character—from quiet dawns to vibrant sunsets. Choose from a variety of room types, each with its own character and atmosphere.

Mashirano (9F): top-floor open-air bath rooms with three different design themes and breathtaking panoramic views.

Hama Suisho (8F): special open-air bath rooms that overlook Shirarahama—perfect for your special moments.

Nami no Aya (6F): Japanese‑style rooms with beds and “mirror bath” that reflect the gentle rhythm of ocean waves.

Enjoy a free choice of colorful yukata if you stay in an open-air bath room—available only to those guests to enhance your memorable experience in style and color.

All rooms are non-smoking. Designated smoking spaces exist on the first floor and, for open‑air bath guests, also on the 8th floor. Smoking is prohibited on balconies and with heated tobacco devices.

Dining

Delicate and beautifully crafted cuisine highlights the best of Wakayama’s sea and mountain produce. Every dish reflects the rhythm of the seasons and aims to bring you warmth and a sense of luxury.

If you stay in a room with an open-air bath, you can select from special private menus such as the “Miyabi” or “Megumi” courses, where local seafood, Wagyu beef, and premium seasonal ingredients are prepared by the head chef.

Guests in standard rooms dine in the restaurant “Waku Waku,” where light buffets and themed family meals bring energy and joy. During summer, enjoy a full dinner buffet. From October to March, savor seasonal “Kue” leading to rich, unforgettable flavor.

Children also enjoy a dedicated meal: “grown‑up children’s lunch” includes Wagyu hamburger, shrimp, gratin, and more, served alongside mini‑buffet items like ramen and sushi.

For breakfast, you’ll have a hearty Japanese‑Western buffet. Enjoy fresh local tuna, mini seafood bowls, oven‑baked bread, grilled fish, eggs, tofu, condiments from Wakayama including specialty soy sauce, miso, pickles, and fruit—designed to start your day with warmth and flavor. (On low‑occupancy dates, breakfast may be served in set‑meal form instead.)

Allergy requests are accepted up to 3 days before arrival, and you may bring your own safe food if needed.

Onsen and Wellness

Shirahama Onsen has over 1,300 years of history and is considered one of Japan’s three ancient hot spring areas, alongside Arima and Dōgo. At Sanrakusō, two different natural onsen sources await:

Fujinoyu (Mountain Source): soft and mild, with floating “yuno-hana” minerals—popular as a “beauty bath.”

Tsunomoto-no-yu (Ocean Source): colorless, warming deeply and known for retaining heat—ideal for dry skin or cold sensitivity.

You’ll find two large public baths—Yūzuki and Yoimach—each offering both hot sources. Enjoy traditional “tangerine pot” baths and a spacious, elegant layout.

At night, the baths feature projection mapping onto the water—scenes of local landmarks like Sandanbeki cliff, Engetsu Island, and fireworks over Shirarahama bring the hot springs to life.

Modern Mirable shower systems deliver ultra-fine bubbles that cleanse deeply and nourish skin, keeping you warm even after rinsing.

The onsen hours span afternoon into evening and early morning, with gender‑separate bathing cycles. The facility offers full amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, razor, and more. Towels come from your room.

Guests with Tattoos

Tattooed guests may use the large public baths only if they use covering stickers that fully conceal tattoos. The hotel does not supply these, so please bring your own. Medical bathing undersuits (e.g. post‑surgery garments) are also welcome.
