Overview

Hotel Yagi lets you forget the clock and fully enjoy each moment. Whether you’re soaking in natural hot springs, savoring seasonal meals, or simply unwinding in a private room, you’ll find a peaceful rhythm that suits your pace. Located in Fukui Prefecture, this ryokan blends warm hospitality, hand-crafted cuisine, and a refined atmosphere to give you a deeply relaxing experience. Once you check in, you won’t need to worry about a thing. Just let go and feel right at home.

Accommodation

Each room at Hotel Yagi focuses on comfort and privacy. You’ll find futons already prepared before your arrival, so you can relax the moment you enter. The ryokan never sends staff into your room during your stay unless requested, giving you uninterrupted time to rest.

You can choose from several room types:

  • Junior Suite with Low Beds (50–60 m²): Offers a soft, thick futon on a low-profile bed, modern essentials, and serene space for unwinding.
  • Kissho Junior Suites (42–60 m²): These spacious suites include a tatami room, an extra sitting room, and wide windows for natural light. Each one has a unique layout.
  • Kissho Suite “Basho-an” (90 m²): This deluxe suite includes a Japanese-style room, a Western-style bedroom with a double bed, and a traditional veranda.
  • Special Room “Koubai”: The only room with a private open-air hot spring bath. Soak in natural waters whenever you wish, right from your room.

All rooms include bath amenities by MIKIMOTO, a tea set with local sweets, and a 2-liter bottle of mineral water. You can also bring your own food and drinks. The in-room refrigerator and unit bath with washlet make your stay even more convenient. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Dining

At Hotel Yagi, your meals highlight the freshest ingredients from Awara and across Japan. You’ll enjoy a buffet-style dinner and breakfast, where chefs prepare dishes on the spot to match your pace. This focus on “handmade” and “just-cooked” dishes makes every meal something to look forward to.

Each season brings new flavors. You’ll see fresh vegetables from local farms, seasonal fruits, and dishes that celebrate what’s growing right now. For dinner, the chefs also create sweets using local fruit, and the dessert corner transforms into a seasonal fair with cakes and pastries made in-house.

The hotel takes great pride in “true local sourcing.” They don’t chase after expensive name-brand products—instead, they go to market, select what looks best that day, and serve only what’s needed, fresh and at its peak.

Onsen and Wellness

Hotel Yagi uses its own natural spring source, making every bath here truly special. The mineral-rich waters have earned the nickname “Heat Bath” because they warm you from the core and help your body retain that warmth. You won’t find any added water—just natural hot spring water, gently cooled by blending high-temperature and low-temperature springs.

The indoor and open-air baths are open 24 hours, and both men’s and women’s areas include saunas with aromatic steam and self-guided löyly experiences. You’ll also find a shampoo and body soap bar, where you can pick the ones you like best.

The women’s bath includes extras like skin lotion, makeup remover, baby beds, diaper bins, and massage chairs. Whether you bathe in the early morning or late at night, the experience soothes both body and mind.

Guests with Tattoos

Hotel Yagi does not mention any tattoo restrictions. If you have tattoos, you can safely enjoy the hot springs here without concern.

Facilities

From the lobby to your room, Hotel Yagi offers practical touches designed for comfort. After checking in, head to the robe station to pick a yukata in your size, then go to your room and start relaxing. You won’t need to worry about futon arrangements—they’re already laid out.

The hotel provides everything you need for a relaxing stay, including:

  • Towel sets in the room and baths
  • In-room tea and snacks
  • A portable bath bag
  • Foot socks
  • Amenities by MIKIMOTO
  • Free high-speed Wi-Fi

If you’d like to enjoy a quiet drink or snack, feel free to bring your own. The in-room fridge is ready, and there’s no charge for outside food.

Activities

While Hotel Yagi doesn’t offer outdoor adventures or fishing, the relaxing atmosphere encourages you to slow down and enjoy life’s smaller pleasures. Take long baths, try new foods, and enjoy meaningful time with the people you love. The seasonal dessert fairs and carefully crafted buffet meals add a layer of excitement to each day.

If you’re planning a quiet getaway focused on rest, wellness, and good food, this is the perfect place to escape your daily routine.
