Overview

When you arrive at iHouse Ataminchi, you step into a spacious hilltop villa designed to help you slow down and enjoy Atami at your own pace. The home stands high above the coastline, so you look out over the ocean the moment you walk through the door. Large windows, a high open ceiling, and an airy layout create a sense of freedom you feel throughout the entire villa. You move easily between indoor relaxation and outdoor living, especially when you step onto the wide balcony that stretches out toward the sea.

This villa works well when you travel with family or a group because it sleeps up to ten people and gives everyone room to spread out. You can spend the morning watching the sunrise, plan a BBQ on the covered balcony, or unwind in the bath made with smooth Izu stone. Whether you stay for one night or several days, the villa gives you the comfort and privacy of a second home in Atami.

Accommodation

As you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the tall atrium-style ceiling. The layout feels open from the entrance all the way to the living room, where three sides of windows fill the space with natural light. You sit on the large sofa, enjoy the hillside breeze, and watch the ocean from above. Floor heating and air-conditioning keep the rooms comfortable throughout the year.

You choose between western-style beds and futons, depending on how you prefer to sleep. The second-floor bedroom includes two sofa beds and one standard bed, along with a small balcony that faces south. You can also sleep in the Japanese-style rooms, where tatami flooring and soft lighting create a warm, traditional tone. If you stay during colder months, the sunken kotatsu in the Japanese-style room becomes a favorite spot to relax while talking, reading or watching TV.

The villa includes two levels, each with its own sleeping area. Because the villa handles up to ten people, you can divide rooms by preference or keep everyone together on one floor. Bedding, towels, and toiletries are prepared for you so you can settle in right away.

Dining

You can cook freely in the fully equipped kitchen. The villa provides a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, toaster, gas stove, pots, pans, and all the basic tools you need for everyday meals. You also find seasonings such as oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, ketchup, mayonnaise, and more. Coffee and green tea wait for you on the counter, so you can make a warm drink anytime.

If you want to enjoy a BBQ, the balcony is ready even on rainy days because the roof protects the space. You simply reserve BBQ equipment in advance and use the provided gas grill, gas cylinder, and beer server. You prepare your ingredients in the kitchen, bring everything outside, and enjoy the ocean in front of you while you cook.

Food delivery is also available as an option. When you arrange it, your ingredients arrive in the villa’s refrigerator before you check in, so you start cooking as soon as you enter.

Onsen and Wellness

The villa includes a special bath made entirely from Izu stone. You can open the window and soak while looking out toward the sea. On nights when fireworks fill the sky, you can even enjoy the show from the bath. The stone keeps the warmth steady, giving you a soothing way to unwind after a day of sightseeing or fishing.

If you want a traditional hot-spring experience in addition to the villa’s bath, you can drive to nearby onsen facilities around Atami. The area is known for its mineral-rich water, and the villa’s location on the hill makes those baths easy to reach by car.

Guests with tattoos

If you have tattoos, you can enjoy the villa’s private stone bath without any restrictions. If you plan to visit public onsen around Atami, check each facility’s rules ahead of time. Many offer private or rental baths where tattoos are accepted without issue.
