Accommodation
You’ll find 26 rooms spread across four wings: Hokuto, Main, East, and West. As you walk to your room, birdsong, garden paths, and glimpses of the natural world welcome you.
Each room has its own unique style. Whether you choose a traditional Japanese room, a blend of Japanese and Western design, or a suite with an open-air bath, your time at Seiryuso is shaped by calm surroundings and thoughtful details.
Some rooms feature private open-air or indoor hot springs, offering you the chance to enjoy soothing baths in privacy. These spaces invite you to slow down and truly enjoy your time away from daily life.
Dining
Your meals at Seiryuso highlight the freshest ingredients from Suruga Bay, Sagami Bay, and the Amagi mountain range. The cuisine draws from both tradition and the local environment, creating a dining experience that feels both refined and grounded.
Dinner features Izu Kaiseki, including seasonal starters, delicate soups, sashimi with Ise lobster, simmered kinmedai (golden eye snapper), grilled abalone, and local side dishes. Each course is carefully prepared to reflect the character of the season.
For a simpler approach, you can enjoy a seasonal Japanese set meal that still includes regional specialties like dancing-steamed abalone. The ingredients and presentation may vary depending on availability, but the care and quality remain the same.
Breakfast includes locally made dried fish, flavorful side dishes, and miso soup with Ise lobster—perfect for starting your day with a taste of Izu.
Onsen and Wellness
Seiryuso draws water from three private springs that flow at over 500 liters per minute. The natural hot spring is soft on your skin and known for easing neuralgia, muscle tension, and cold sensitivity.
You can bathe at any time except during the daily cleaning hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The baths alternate between men and women at midnight, allowing everyone to enjoy both the indoor and open-air areas.
The open-air baths let you bathe surrounded by forest and birdsong, while indoor baths feature black stone tubs filled with clear, mineral-rich water. A private rental bath near the river lets you soak to the sound of flowing water, perfect for families.
Some guest rooms also include their own open-air baths, each designed to reflect a different mood or view.
Guests with Tattoos
You can enjoy the private baths at Seiryuso regardless of tattoos. For the communal baths, please check at the front desk for guidance or availability of private options.
Facilities
Seiryuso offers more than rooms and hot springs. The property includes a seasonal outdoor pool filled with natural hot spring water. You can swim, walk, or simply stretch out in the warm water, surrounded by trees.
The pool stays at a comfortable temperature year-round. You’ll also find a Roman-style wellness zone next door, where aromatic steam and warm ceramic beds help your body relax and refresh. Foot baths and several types of saunas round out the experience.
In summer, a poolside bar offers drinks and light fare in a quiet, leafy setting. The property also includes:
- Finnish-style wood-burning sauna made from rare Kelo timber
- Tepidarium: a warm ceramic bed area for gentle heat bathing
- Laconicum and Caldarium: saunas using radiant heat and aromatic steam
- Esthetic salon: private treatment rooms offering all-hand aromatherapy sessions for body, face, or feet
- Indoor lounge and bar named after Commodore Perry’s flagship
